Abstract: Multiple layers of ballistic fabrics are extensively used in the production of soft body armour. The importance of comfort and hence its evaluation for these fabrics is gaining significance among present day researchers. This research compares 100% Kevlar ballistic fabric and Kevlar/wool ballistic fabric focussing on two aspects of comfort, namely the evaluation of surface roughness and the ability to transport moisture. A water repellent treatment was applied to the ballistic Kevlar/wool fabric. The effects of the treatment on the Kevlar/wool fabric were examined as well.

Abstract: Domestic and international testing methods of flammability property of textile, such as oxygen index method, vertical test method, 45 degree test method, horizontal test method and cone calorimeter method, were analyzed via comparing the principles, as well as their requirements of different acts and standards. To comprehensively evaluate the burning behavior of textiles, appropriate combination of methods should be chosen according to the practical application.

Abstract: Alkaline pectinase has a broad application prospect in textile field. In hemp degumming, enzymatic degumming is preferred because of the better fiber quality and less environmental pollution. In this thesis, we used the recombinant strain Bacillus subtilis TCCC11485 constructed in our laboratory to express high-yield alkaline pectinase. The optimal conditions of the alkaline pectinase for hemp degumming were determined by single factor experiments as: bath ratio 1:36, pH 8, 45°C, enzyme activity 600 U/mL, degumming for 6 h. Under the above conditions, the residual gum content of fiber is 32.76%. Further, the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) was also used to compare quality of the hemp fibers produced by enzymatic-, chemical-degumming. The results showes that the fibers are in higher quality by alkaline pectinase degumming, suggesting the prospect of commercial applications in domestic textile industry.

Abstract: Aimed to investigate the fabric handle which weaved with bundle yarn filling insertion technology, the properties of interlace resistance, flatness, friction, bending and compressing are tested. And 2 fabrics with the same size which weaved by different weaving methods on air-jet loom are analyzed contrastively. The result shows that the double wefts satin fabric which weaved with bundle yarn filling insertion technology had the adjacent interweave resistance, touched more flat and stiff compared to which weaved by traditional weaving technique. It was smoother and had better bending properties at warp orientation. But along weft orientation, it was rougher and had less bending properties.

Abstract: The modified reed absorbent was obtained by the being treated process with NaOH solution. The decoloration property of modified reed for alkaline fuchsin was studied under different conditions. The effects of adsorbent dose, adsorption temperature, adsorption time and pH value on the decoloration property were investigated, and the optimal adsorption condition was gotten,, the discoloration rate was above 95%. The adsorption isotherm was well represented by the Langmuir.

Abstract: Treatment methods of silk fabric with chitosan and the dyeing of tussah silk fabric on low-salt condition were the subject of this study. The different treatment methods were used to find the influence of treatment methods on the dye ability. It was clear from the results that the color depth of the dyed fabric, the fixation ratio and dyeing rate of reactive dyes on silk fabric could be improved efficiently by the crosslinkling after the fabric was treated with chitosan. The optimal concentration of chitosan was 0.7% (w/v). The finishing effect of pretreatment was the best and the effect of post treatment was better than simultaneous treatment. The salt concentration could be reduced when the fabrics were treated with chitosan, but the degree of salt concentration reduction was not obvious.

Abstract: The art of fractal graphics features by modern scientific spirits and modern scientific knowledge, which is full of the magnetic creativity of intricacy, variable and exaggeration and can create the combination of the scientific world and the art world. Meanwhile, it can also make the rational designed medium has a magical infectivity on the textile fabric. In this paper, the study of relevance between the art design methods of fabric fractal graphics and defects texture makes the application room of the modern textile fabrics into the indoor soft environment and garment design field larger, whose results promote the development of the combination of the modern art and science. It is helpful to improve the new ways of the textile fabrics design and the aesthetic value.

Abstract: In this paper, compared with the traditional desizing process, the ultrasonic technology was applied to the pretreatment of PLA fabric combined with enzyme. The results showed that the fabric weight loss rate and the whiteness of the fabric increased 15% and 20% respectively after the ultrasonic treatment. Besides, the efficiency of the ultrasonic method also increased by 20% time saving.

Abstract: Although Chinese Kesiorigin is being recognized in various ways at present, yet its history of textual research lasts at least more than two thousand years. Moreover, a change occurred in Song Dynasty that high-grade works of art of Kesi paintings and calligraphies emerged, which formed the peak of Chinese Kesi art. In Ming and Qing Dynasties, the Kesi in the south region of Yangtze River inherited the skill of that in the Southern Song Dynasty, but it gradually declined after the Republican Period. After new China was founded, Kesi developed vigorously in Suzhou, and it had already been enrolled to the National Non-material Cultural Heritage list. This paper aims to explain the origin, the mutation, and the inheritance carrying of Chinese Kesi, then make a summary concerning the regulation. Not only will a clear cognition be made based on the previous research, but also it might be usible for reference about the protection of non-material cultural heritage in the future.

Abstract: Yarns respectively produced by gill pin taker-in and saw-tooth taker-in under different speed ratios were tested by Premier PT7000 evenness tester. The results show that under the experimental conditions, a smaller speed ratio is helpful for the improvement of the yarn quality. Since the main factors of fiber transfer from the taker-in are the centrifugal force and the airflow action, simply discussing the effect of the speed ratio on yarn quality is meaningless. The taker-in speed should first insure that fibers have enough centrifugal forces, which must be definite for discussing the speed ratio. Under the conditions of ensuring well fiber transfer and certain carding degree, speed ratio discussion makes more sense.
