Abstract: Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) water solution was electrospun using both needle electrospinning and needleless electrospinning methods. Finer and uniform nanofibers were obtained from disc and coil electrospinng, when compared to those of conventional needle electrospinning. The finest nanofibers were 217±86 nm and 234±82 nm in diameter from disc and coil electrospinning respectively, while fibers from needle electrospinning was 296±36 nm when the applied voltage was 12kV. However, needle electrospinning produced nanofibers with a more uniform diameter distribution.

Abstract: In order to test the elastic recovery, 25 samples of seamless-knitted women's gymnastics clothing were weaved. They were designed by two factors: fabric weaves and ratios of coolmax / nylon. Empirical results show that the ratios of coolmax / nylon have little effect on elastic recovery at certain elongation and the main influence factor is fabric weaves. 2+1 mock rib fabric performs best on elastic recovery, while mesh fabric performs worst.

Abstract: This paper mainly studies the influence of fabric structure and the content of Outlast fiber on the effects of temperature adjusting performance of seamless temperature-regulating knitted fabric. The experiment knitted 9 seamless temperature-regulating knitted fabrics with three kinds of structures and ratios of Outlast/viscose and tested the true effect of temperature adjusting of them on four parts of upper body when ambient temperature suddenly changed by using the sweating fabric manikinwater. The experimental results show that it will improve the comprehensive temperature adjusting property of the seamless temperature-regulating knitted garment , if its structure separately in bosom, abdomen, dorsum and arm is respectively weft plain, 3+1 rib, pile stitch and weft plain containing 25%,50%,50% and 25% amount of Outlast fiber respectively.

Abstract: Compared Chinese and English medical compression hosiery standards, it can conclude a rational medical compression stocking pressure index. By researching stretch property, twist and scanning electron microscopes, it turns out that elongation at break of lycra/ nylon double wrapped yarn is increasing with the increase of lycra denier. This phenomenon is obvious at the beginning, and then it will level off. Breaking strength and breaking force is increasing with the increase of nylon denier. The increase of yarn twist makes yarn construction tight, thus double wrapped yarn is covered better and not easy to expose the yarn core.

Abstract: Combined with seamless knitting technology, the temperature adjusting performance of Outlast viscose seamless knitted fabric is researched. Accepting differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), the temperature adjusting performance tests of samples determined by the seamless knitting process design are done. Comparative analysis of endothermic and exothermic temperature ranges, peak temperatures, influence of interwoven ratios and weave structures on fabric ability of heat absorption, accumulation and release is studied. DSC results show that Outlast viscose seamless knitted fabrics have good temperature adjusting performance, provide a certain value on improving the wearing comfort of seamless knitted fabric.

Abstract: Flexible stab-resistant fabrics have been widely used in military and civilian fields; however, there are few researches about effects of incidence angle on stabbing performance of fabrics. Thereof, the stab-resistant mechanism of fabric is investigated from raw material selection, fabric preparation and quasi-static stab-resistant performance test. We analyzed and obtained the modes of interaction between knife and fabric and the mutual influence between the fabrics through different angles and the compound way at different angles. Results show that with the increasing of the angle of incidence, the cutting forces of fabric decrease and the strength reducing rate of fabric increases. The strength trend of compound fabric at different angles is the same as single layer fabric; however, the strength reducing rate firstly increases then decreases. It may be explained that there exists interaction between the fabrics in the cutting process.

Abstract: People are dissatisfied with quite some towel quality including easy to hardening, fiber loss and poor absorption. To solve the problems, this paper used different towel fabrics to test stiffness, frictional properties, wicking and depilation rate. Then gray analysis method is introduced to evaluate the comprehensive comfort of these towel fabrics. The results show that the contact comfort of Bamboo fiber towel is better than the cotton towel. With the increasing of pile loop, the performance of towels is comfortable.

Abstract: Objective and quantitative evaluation of garment thermal protective performance should be based on the simulation of human in actual thermal environments as realistic as possible. In this paper, by using a new type of flame manikin which can rotate and make different postures, the dynamic scene where a firefighter wearing fire protective ensembles rescue in the flash fire was simulated. The skin burn prediction result showed that the total burn percent suffered by the manikin was 7.76%, of which the 2nd degree burn and the 3rd degree burn was 5.12% and 2.64% respectively. This indicated that the firefighter ensembles exhibited relatively good thermal protective performance. It can provide enough protection for the firefighter in 8s dynamic exposure while more protection should be added to the head.

Abstract: Industrial textile fabric with functionalization always has a high standard requirement. Take polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) conveyor belt as an example, the base fabrics must be of first-rate quality, with no weaving faults or broken fibers on coated surface [1]. In a previous work [2], we have proposed an original method to measure the height of the fiber based on variable homography. This measurement is based on a single camera acquiring two successive frames. This scheme is working well, but measurement depends on conveyor speed used for scrolling fabric. In this paper, we propose an improvement by using a new acquisition device based on two mini-lenses assembled as a dual-objective. With this device, variable homography modeling leads to 3-D online inspection whatever fabric speed with a simplified calibration procedure compared to classic stereovision approaches.

Abstract: Cashmere is a kind of luxury fiber fine in texture, strong, soft and light. Garment made from it is quite expensive due to its excellent performance and rareness. Thus adulteration and false declaration occurs quite often in industrial chain. We have developed a DNA analysis based method for quantifying cashmere/wool mixture. The goal of the paper is to evaluate the precision of method. Three commercially available woven products claimed to have contained different content of cashmere were employed to finish our tests. Six laboratories with correspondent qualifications were invited to do the texts. Result of data analysis shows DNA analysis is an useful and accurate method for determining the content of cashmere in a cashmere/wool mixture.
