Abstract: Monitoring of inclination of land is important to prevent damage from landslide. Low cost and stable system is necessary for this purpose. This paper presents a new inclination measurement system and its application to sensor network of disaster prevention. Our system has a bull's eye level, a digital camera and wireless module. The angle and direction of inclination is measured from the photo of bull's eye level. The achieved resolution was 0.0053degree/pixel using a bull's eye level with a curvature radius of 800 mm. Measurement data was compared with the data from commercial inclinometer.

Abstract: Landslide prediction was one of the important tasks in the monitoring and early warning of the Three Gorges reservoir. On the basic of the BP neural network which was combined with the algorithm model, we took the typical Baishuihe landslide in Three Gorges reservoir for example. With the use of GPS monitoring data in surface displacement and its predisposing factors which was reservoir level, rainfall and so on, we built BP neural network prediction model. The monitoring of data recent years was used in the training and validation of the network .The results show that the BP neural network prediction model prediction can be used in the prediction of landslide deformation and the accuracy is high.

Abstract: Preventive resettlement is one of the effective measures to prevent geological disasters. However, there is a lack of definite theoretical system to guide how to deal with the potential disasters and risks and provide migration decision-making. The paper selects disaster risk management as the theoretical guidance and the risk assessment of the framework system as the focus to explore hazard identification and characterization, identification of exposed elements, vulnerability assessment and determination of risk levels, through which the paper gets risk cognition and obtains the basis for risk management. Besides, the paper combines with the different characteristics and factors of geological disasters to expound on the strategy of risk reduction and put forward the possible solutions to avoid and alleviate risks. Furthermore, under certain conditions, the disaster-avoiding migration strategy is adopted.

Abstract: It is a typical and representative problem which coal mining has been causing serious damage in the Eastern Plains of China with high phreatic water level. Based on GIS technology, we analyzed the characters of cropland and coal resources, the results showed that the area of the overlapped areas of cropland and coal resources was 1.28 × 105km2, which accounted for 38.22% of the total arable land of the study area. Based on investigation and statistics, we investigated and forecast the farmland damage and analyzed the comprehensive treatment status in the typical region, the results showed that coal mining led to farmland subsided depth and perennial water, the recovery rate of cultivated land was between 50% and 70% in the treated area and more lower in the untreated area, the trend of arable land area continued to reduce would be hard to contain, the local governments faced unprecedented pressure on cultivated land protection.

Abstract: Referring to the actual test results of mine pressure and gas gushing quantity in a certain mine, this paper presents a discussion on the relationship between them quantitatively. The results show that there is a close relationship between mine pressure and gas gushing quantity that the gas emission is gradually increasing with the increase of mine pressure, but they are not the relationship of the simple linear increase, gas gushing quantity is also influenced by many other factors.

Abstract: In China, Surface subsidence caused by underground coal mining has affected the safe operation of pipelines in recent years. Take the coal mine in Shanxi section of the west-east gas pipeline as case study, numerical modeling was adopted to study the interaction mechanism of the soil-pipeline caused by longwall mining, and the numerical model was calibrated with the measurement data. The results reveal that the soil-pipeline interaction undergoes an evolution process from synchronization to separation during the subsidence process. The peak stresses on the pipeline at cross-sections occur generally above the centre of the corresponding subsidence basins at different stages of face advance, and the maximum stress on the pipeline appeared at about 150m above the centre of the subsidence basin as the face advances 300m.

Abstract: On 29th January 2010, a tragedy took place before the blissful Chinese Lunar New Year. An old tenement building in Ma Tau Wai collapsed in a sudden, causing 2 deaths and 4 injuries. Not only did this raise peoples concerns to investigate the reasons the collapse of the tenement building, it also raised their awareness on old tenement buildings as well as protecting them from collapsing. In view of this, this paper investigates on condensation and how it might shorten the service life of that old tenement building.

Abstract: In this paper, RS-KKM mappings are introduced and an RS-KKM theorem is established in noncompact complete FC-metric spaces. As applications, a Ky Fan section theorem, a maximal element theorem and a Fan-Browder type fixed point theorem are obtained in noncompact complete FC-metric spaces. These results unify, improve and generalize some known results in recent literature.

Abstract: In this paper, MFC mappings is introduced and Ky Fan matching theorems for MFC mappings with transfer compactly open values are established in noncompact complete FC-metric spaces. As applications, a Fan-Browder type coincidence theorem and a minimax inequality are obtained. Our results unify, improve and generalize some known results in recent literature.

Abstract: This paper attempts to use PLAXIS 2D for calculation sheet pile wharf, mainly introduces this methods simulation process, parameter selection and so on. Using this method for a underground continuous wall structure to simulate, calculate and analysis. The results with the actual criterion calculating results come very close.
