Abstract: Researched the conceptual design of product service system (PSS) oriented on CNC machine tools. Centered on acquisition and analysis of the customers need, and its transmission and distribution to PSS project characteristics of CNC machine tool, the paper proposed an integration method of QFD and TRIZ to help the designer to develop PSS solutions to meet the customers need. This study established a new design system and methodology for PSS conceptual design, which built a theoretical foundation for the further research in this field, and also provided technical support for transmission and distribution of the customers need, configuration design and PSS project decision-making. This method was applied in a PSS case of CNC machine tool to test its effectiveness.

Abstract: Traditional design process has laid an emphasis on developing function-based products in the assumption that consumers only care for the functional value of products. However, the importance of the aesthetics and usability of products in the aging society demands the human-centered product development process that the human factors should be integrated in developing products. This research proposes a design methodology for universal design product development based on patent information about ergonomic designed products. It will support the production and accumulation of reusable universal design knowledge and enable human-centric product development more economically.

Abstract: With National Injury Surveillance System (NISS) as data source and 6,683 cases of injuries by household necessities in 2012 as study sample, the classification tree model was established to analyze the typical pattern of product injury of household necessities. The suggestions were put forward that the daily ceramics should be designed as per usage requirements to determine the structure style of modeling shape and the ratio scale, etc. The reverse engineering system should be incorporated into the design of daily plastics, glasses and daily groceries to pertinently improve the design of product components that may lead to injuries. Hand tools and hardware should be properly designed to avoid the possible product hazard and to reduce the risk of problem arising by means of additional special protection system.

Abstract: As with the development of the society, people are becoming more aware of the phrases like “low carbon”, “green” and “sustainable development in design and manufacturing”. Based on the notion of green, this article stresses that environmentally friendly materials should be applied to apparel design process. It illustrates the strategy of how to make apparel design more ecological, concerned with its method and materials. There are 2 basic ways: a scientific way and an artistic way. The article reflects on the low carbon appliance in the clothing industry, and shows specific ways of creating new materials and taking advantage of old fabrics, as sustainable development calls for new technologies to save energy, green materials applied to apparel design is an absolute trend for future society.

Abstract: This paper considers a metal industry supply chain consisting of one supplier and one retailer. When the supplier offers the trade credit to the retailer, their target profit and the supply chains profit will change. We develop the metal industry supply chains trade credit-based buyback contract model and analyze the buyback based on trade credits mechanism for improving the entire metal industry supply chain operational performance and for distributing the profit. We also derive the optimal contract parameters for the metal industry supply chain coordination and the conditions for profits rational allocation. Finally, a numerical example illustrates the conclusions.

Abstract: Based on grey prediction,trend extrapolation and combination forecasting models,take natural gas for example,the paper forecasts the demand gap of several main products of advanced coal chemical industry before 2020.Combined with the production capacity of coal in the future,I draw the concludion that the surplus amount of coal in 2020 can not meet the coal consumption of chemical engineering to offset the demand gap of the main products of advanced coal chemical industry and some related proposals were provided.
