Prediction of Melting of Organic Phase Change Materials (PCMs) for Energy Storage with Simple Low Eutectic Systems

The paper predicts the melting of solid-liquid organic PCMs for energy storage by the use of activity coefficient. Single parameter Margules Equation was built for alcohol - carboxylic acid series of binary systems by improving single parameter Margules Equation and introducing new variable temperatures, from which T-X phase diagram was obtained. The results are helpful with prediction of multiple phase change materials with the suitable phase transition temperature.
