Spectroscopic Study of 2-Thiobarbituric Acid Modified Gold Nanoparticles

Article Preview

Abstract:

Gold nanoparticles with a 13 nm diameter were synthesized and modified by a pH-sensitive, ionizable thiols acid, 2-thiobarbituric acid (TBA). After modification, the maximum absorbance wavelength shifted from 520 to 524 nm. Several effects were also investigated, including the pH, the salt and the metal ions effects.
