The main scope of the Ninth Japanese-Mediterranean Workshop on Applied Electromagnetic Engineering for Magnetic, Superconducting, Multifunctional and Nanomaterials (JAPMED’9) is to exploit synergies in technological advances concerning innovative materials and improved design optimization methodologies in the frame of concrete applications by bridging the gap amongst the respective scientific communities. The aims are to create appropriate links for the participants to share knowledge and experience and for the cross-fertilization of new ideas and developments in applied electromagnetics, design, analysis, new material utilization, from macro-, micro-, to nano-scale and optimization techniques including applications related to biomedical engineering, superconductivity, ultraprecision engineering, nanotechnology, energy and environment. Topics related to practical applications, operation, maintenance are also highly encouraged.
This special topic volume on “Photocatalytic Materials and Surfaces for Environmental Cleanup IV” addresses photocatalysis in wide sense focus on the environmental applications of photocatalytic materials. Photocatalytic materials had been widely studied for the various applications such as water and air purification, CO2 reduction, hydrogen generation, and development of auto-cleaning surfaces etc. The present special topic volume covers the application of various photocatalytic materials for CO2 reduction, hydrogen generation, removal of pesticides, degradation of organic pollutant and recent development in the fabrication of photocatalytic reactors.
The book summarizes current research and recent developments within the field of production and further processing of flat products. The main topics include new technologies and materials as well as mathematical modelling and simulation of processes and consider industrial issues in the same extend as main research of universities. Based on the close collaboration between industry, research and science the acquisition of research results and their rapid implementation are provided. The papers of this book have been carefully selected after an expertly review by a scientific committee evaluating scientific excellence, relevance and originality. Consequently, this book mainly serves to provide knowledge building and knowledge sharing for users, researches as well as students.
The Sixth Meeting on Chemistry and Life was held at Brno University of Technology, Faculty of Chemistry. It is the tradition of regular meetings providing specialists from industry, research and academia with a forum to exchange ideas on recent advances in research in materials chemistry, environmental chemistry and technology, food chemistry and biotechnology, physical chemistry and applied chemistry.
