A short review of some of the papers dealing with the conventional solid state and solution chemistry based methods for YSZ preparation is done in [1, 2].
Films were deposited on substrates (10x10 mm) from β-quartz (LiKAl2Si4O12) with a hexagonal structure and cell parameters (516 and 538 pm) similar to that of the cubic YSZ (514 pm for Y0.15Zr0.85O1.93 [7]) and on erbia-stabilized zirconia (ESZ).

The micrograph shows the columnar structure of the chromia scale with the silica particles positioned at the alloy/chromia interface.
Another suggestion for the reduction in growth rate could be that the defect chemistry of chromia has changed as a result of silicon doping.
However, to the authors' knowledge, no experimental evidence exists for such a change in defect chemistry.

Dynamic Mechanical and Thermal Behavior of UV-curable Coating of Glycidyl Methacrylate /Polyurethane-acrylate Modified with MAP-POSS Jungang Gao*1a, Yingying Ma1b, Haojie Lin1c and Li Huo2d 1 College of Chemistry and Environmental Science, Hebei University, Baoding 071002, China 2 Department of Chemistry, Baoding College, Baoding 071000, China agaojg@hbu,edu,cn, bmayingying29@163.com , cLinhaojie1818@163.com, dhuolichenchen@sina.com Keywords: UV-curable coating, glycidyl methacrylate, polyurethane-acrylate, silsesquioxane Abstract.
Above results can be interpreted as two factors: first, the introduction of POSS include two high energy bonds of Si-O and Si-C bond; the other, the POSS molecules contain a cage inorganic framework (SiO1.5) and cross-linking structure, which can restrict the movement of molecular chains and small molecules escape [9].
