Although present in minor concentrations, holds a significant influence over the anode capacity, particularly in Al-Zn-In alloys.
Indium's effect on corrosion in alloys, even beyond Al-Zn-In systems, has been further examined.
For instance, Mg-Al-Cu-In alloys displayed varying corrosion behaviors contingent on the indium content [8].
A primary concern with copper addition is the formation of Al2Cu intermetallic compounds at the grain boundary.

This group encompasses the likes of Terfenol-D, an iron-gallium alloy, nickel, and rare-earth iron alloys [7 - 9].
This atomic arrangement is influenced by the crystal structure, composition, and microstructure of Ni-Mn-Ga alloys, intermetallic compounds comprising specific proportions of Ni, Mn, and Ga elements.
Importantly, ferromagnetic shape memory alloys undergo actuation in the martensitic phase, distinct from the phase transformation-based actuation observed in thermal shape memory alloys.
It encompasses materials like shape memory alloys, piezoceramics, and MSM materials.

The alloying of the diffusion zone by Si and Cu with the replacement of aluminum by the AK12M2 alloy leads to a decrease in the thickness of the diffusion zone and the appearance of additional phases of Al7Fe2Si and (Al,Si)5Fe3 in its composition.
Due to alloying with silicon, the hardness of the intermetallic compound Fe2Al5 decreased to 7.5-8 GPa.
The only change is the ratio of thickness layers constituting the diffusion layer - based intermetallic compound layer Fe2Al5 became dominant.
