The miniemulsion polymerization process in this study was adopted from the report by Anderson et al. [3], who found that polystyrene (PS) particles as small as 50 nm could be produced through the combined use of microfluidization, low reaction temperature (50 oC), and redox type initiator.

Fougere et al [10] have determined Young's modulus in nanocrystalline iron obtained by inert-gas condensation and warm consolidation; measurements were carried out by nanoindentation.
