A V-shaped groove 3 mm in width and 1.5 mm deep was machined by wire electrical discharge machining, as shown in Fig. 1.

Results and discussion Fig. 1 shows the optical microstructure of Ti-Ni-La alloys.
It is well known to us that Near-equatomic Ti-Ni alloy exhibits single solution as shown in Fig 1 a).
In Table 1, the Ni:La ratio is about 1 in Ti-Ni-La alloy.
