The grained seeds were soxhlet for 72 hours with ethanol in order to inactivate enzyme and eliminate low molecular weight compound [14].
Then, 300 g of grained seed were extracted by water extraction for 2 hours at 100 ºC.
The mixture was grained and put in the pellet kit to form a pellet disc.

In combination with time and temperature dependent microstructural changes (e.g. grain size, texture or phase fraction) within the irradiated material volume or for altering attenuation path lengths due to geometric inhomogeneities of the component in question during an EDXRD experiment (e.g. during in-situ welding) such intensity variations occur and therefore knowledge of the quantitative detector dt induced shift in E is compulsory.
However, the change is significant and therefore it is essential to determine the effect of the detector dead time on the strain measurement as long as e.g. grain size, texture or geometry effects may influence the diffraction experiment over time.
However, when performing high speed experiments under conditions which may affect the detector dead time (time dependent changes of the specimen geometry (in this case the weld seam) or the material grain size, texture or phase fraction) special care must be taken in order to account for such effects.
The results from this investigation clearly show, that strain measurements where changes in texture, grain size, phase fraction within the irradiated material (gauge volume) or where the beam attenuation path length changes due to varying component geometry require special care for determination of the detector dead time effects.
