Based on the environmental friendliness and the efficiency on nitrate, both EG and the composite may be considered into the experimental teaching of environmental chemistry course.
Expanded graphite (EG) is a novel carbon material with porous structure and high surface area and can be used as carbon carrier material for metals and alloy catalysts[13].
Fig. 1a presents EG is a porous material with macroporous network structure.
During calcination, the network structure in EG is destroyed in some degree, but there are few obvious particles on the surface of EG.
The employment of EG as composite carrier may conform to the concept of green chemistry in some degree.

Electrical Properties and Interface Structure of SiC MOSFETs
with Barium Interface Passivation

The interface structure and chemistry of the Ba-modified MOS devices were investigated using scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS).
Investigating the interface structure and chemistry using scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) also confirms (Fig. 5(d)) that the Ba concentration is peaked at the SiO2/SiC interface after MOSFET processing is complete.

Recent advances in elucidating structure-function relationships from protein
crystallographic studies have been strategic in advancing our understanding of protein function.
This progress is fueling the rapid expansion of efforts in a field popularly termed structural genomics- the high-throughput analysis of protein structure.
A second approach to protein crystallization is the use of micro-vapor control to adjust the chemistry in a small drop of protein solution.
At small scales, diffusion through the vapor phase is the most efficient and controllable way to change the chemistry within a drop.
Using nature's examples of the lotus leaf and the physics of rainfall, we have developed unique nano-structured biochips to enable vapor phase control of chemistry in nanodrops as shown in Fig. 4.

In this study, we formed texture structure of 1 μm size by applying the particles on a silicon surface as an etching mask.
A subwavelength structured (SWS) surface, which is the surface relief grating with a period smaller than the wavelength of light, behaves as an antireflective surface, for instance the moth-eye structures, etc [3].
After the formation of texture structure, Ag nanoparticles were removed by nitric acid (HNO3).
