Sonochemically-assisted solution phase synthesis was employed to prepare the target IL. 1-methylimidazolium acetate (MIMOAc) was synthesized by sonicating a mixture of 1-methylimidazole and glacial acetic acid with a molar ratio of 1:1.5.

Other peaks at 2932 cm-1 and 1449 cm-1 can be associated to the C-H stretchings while peaks at 1359 cm-1 and 1243 cm-1 can be ascribed to C-H bendings.
In addition, two prominent Raman shifts [Fig. 4(b)] centered at 1336 cm-1 and 1584 cm-1 are attributed to the 1st order D and G bands, respectively.

After incubation, ethyl acetate (1 mL) and water (1 mL) were added.
The lyophilized sample (0.05-0.1 g) was mixed with 6 mL ethanolic pyrogallol (6%, w/v), 1 mL salt solution (1%), 1 mL PMC (1 mg/mL) in hexane internal standard and 1 mL KOH (60%, w/v).

The conductivity of optimum salt concentration (45wt.%) rise to one order of magnitude from (7.71 ± 0.04) x 10-3 Scm-1 (303K) to (1.84 ± 0.04) x 10-2 Scm-1 (353K).
Introducing heat to CMC film enhances the conductivity from (1.86 ± 0.01) x 10-8 Scm-1 to (7.68 ± 0.01) x 10-8 Scm-1.
