In the modern polymer industry the different types of polymer flameretardants based on halogens (Cl, Br), heavy and transition metals (Zn, V, Pb, Sb), or phosphorus organic compounds may reduce risk during polymer combustion and pyrolysis, yet may present ecological issues.
