Discrete Element Method (DEM) simulation is transforming the business of designing and optimizing equipment for the handling and processing of bulk materials.
The use of simplified particle shapes and contact interactions is needed in order to focus on the collective behavior of particles which is at the origin of many specific properties of granular materials.

Introduction Polyvinyl chloride is a thermoplastic polymer degraded during consumption, amorphous or weakly crystalline, main representative of the chloropolymer family, It is prepared from two raw materials: 57% sea salt (NaCl) and 43% oil; it is the only plastic material made up of more than 50% of raw material of mineral origin [1].

The degradation of polycarbonate (PC) food contact materials was studied based on analysis with GC-MS, FTIR, UV-Vis and TG techniques.
It was evident that the processing temperature of the materials significantly enhanced the release of bisphenol A, an endocrine disruptor.
Conclusions Processing temperature has significant influence on the release of environmental hormone BPA contained in food contact materials.
