Shalaby et al. (2014) investigated the influence of cutting speed on cutting tool wear of the three cutting tool materials (i.e., polycrystalline cubic boron nitride (PCBN), TiN coated PCBN, and mixed aluminum ceramic (Al2O3 + TiC)) and chip formation in turning of AISI D2 high carbon-chromium tool steel [3] whereas Dosbaeva et al. (2015) studied the effect of cutting speed and cutting temperature on cutting tool wear of the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) coated tungsten-carbide and PCBN cutting tools in turning of AISI D2 tool steel [4].

It is well known that thermomechanical treatment (TMT) is effective for microstructural control and hence improves the mechanical properties of monolithic metals such as steels [1, 2], Al alloys [3] and Mg alloys [4], but investigations of TMT on laminated bimetal are rare [5].
According to the research of Modi et al. [8], the abrasive wear rate of the pearlitic microstructure increases with an increase of interlamellar spacing.

High temperature deformation behavior of a Ti-Al intermetallic compound has been
investigated in this study.
There have been wide and consistent effort to directly use cast Ti-Al alloy with some heat treatments.
