The biaxial mechanical strength of porous material was tested using a ball on three balls test [8], according to ASTM F394 (ASTM International, “Standard Test Method for Biaxial Flexure Strength (Modulus of Rupture) of Ceramic Substrates” in ASTM F 394. 1996).
For comparison also ceramic materials, fibers and other natural materials are reported.

Materials This section describes the material and the ceramic particles used for reinforcement.
Generally it is possible to incorporate up to 30% ceramic particles in the size range 5 to 100 µm in a variety of molten aluminium alloys [12].
It is also observed that the ductile property of Aluminium increases with higher percentage addition of ceramics.
