Materials and Methods
A simulation of fish swimming is basically to solve the following problem: given any deforming motion of body, the incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are discretized in space, then the hydrodynamic forces on the body are numerically calculated, as well as body locomotion, flow field and distribution characters.
