Raman spectra were a useful tool to observe the stress of semiconductor materials without damaging the sample.
There existed big mismatch of lattice between AlGaN and GaN materials.

Elastic deformation in strained nitride semiconductor materials can change states of binding atom and the frequencies of the phonon modes.
While the excited laser was switched to 325nm, Raman peaks related GaN and AlGaN materials were observed.
