Such extraordinary and promising structural properties are due to the closed graphene
sheets in the CNT structure.
The extraordinary stiffness of the graphite structure along its basal planes is therefore made available in CNTs through the tubular three-dimensional structure.
The experimental results showed that the modified CNTs were efficiently mixed with silica nanoparticles to form a composite CNT/SiO2 network structure.
Helpful discussions with Dr Milo Shaffer (Department of Chemistry, Imperial College London) are appreciated.

Shotcrete lining has been increasingly used in tunnel and underground structure since 1960.
External sulfate attack (ESA) usually occurs when environmental sulfate penetrates into a concrete structure.
Interaction of Ground Water with Shotcrete Linings As the above mentioned that the sulfate attack in shotcrete occurs as the percolating of sulfate solution in the structure.
The groundwater is usually related to the structures of the wallrocks, indicating as the arrows in Fig. 1(a).
Figi, in: Proc. of the 12th International Congress on the Chemistry of Cement, Montréal, Canada (2007), 12 pp

Generation of polycrystalline structures by Voronoi tessellation
With the geometry of grain determined it should be decided, which elements of the structure are essential in terms of diffusion, and which may be omitted or simplified.
This can be explained as an effect of self-similarity of the geometry of the analysed structures.
The diffusivity of the structures shown in Fig. 11 was approached with FEM.
The map of concentration distribution calculated in Example 5 for structures with CV=0.41 Fig. 15.

These unique and enhanced electronic and optical properties also rely on rich diversity of composition, structure, shape, and size of alloy nanoparticles [1].
Large sized alloy nanoparticles possibly due to porous structure are also active.
