Introduction
Plastics are nowadays one of the most commonly used materials due to their many unique characteristics such as low density, low cost, good corrosion resistance and ease of manufacturing.
In most plastics processing sites energy bills generally represent the third highest variable cost after materials and direct labour [3].
Different types of plastic materials have different specific energy requirement for processing.
