The bottle filling stage costs a large quality and various type raw materials and consumes a large amount of steam, a certain amount of COD, NH4-N,waste glass etc. are discharged into the environment.

Higher cement content can result in concrete having higher heat of hydration, higher possibility of alkali-aggregate reaction, but when cement was replaced by supplementary cementing materials, these problems can be solved, and the durability of concrete can be improved, the cost of concrete sleeper can be decreased.
They suggested that the use of supplementary cementing materials might be more effective [3].
