For applications demanding good ductility, AM (Mg-Al-Mn base) series alloys are used, whereas, for strength-sensitive applications, the AZ91D (Mg-Al-Zn base) and other alloys are preferred [3–7].
AM100 alloy having the chemical composition as (Mg, 9.3-10.7 Al, and 0.13 Mn, balance Mg) was used as the matrix alloy in the present case.
Formation of Al12Mg17 is due to the reaction between Mg and Al.
As suggested by Lim et al [17], the harder composites have better wear resistant to abrasion.

Therefore an alternative approach has been used to investigate the electrical response of materials that present some degree of ionic conductivity, by using complex electric modulus defined by Macedo et al. [25].
