A new class of optical materials known as photonic crystals (PhCs) [4,5] artificially created periodic structures of dielectric materials, holds promise for future all-optical circuits.
The formation of the PBG is a result of the periodic arrangement of the dielectric materials.

During screw pressing of the Type 1 and Type 2 materials, it is believed that a considerable fraction of hemicellulose materials was removed due to dissolution by steam heat and squeezing out by the pressure of screw press.

Introduction
Marine cylinder liner materials are investigated in terms of microstructure, surface topography,
lubricity etc. to perform minimum friction and wear to meet increasing demands on reducing
pollution and fuel costs [1-5].
In this report, effects of frequency and stroke on friction and wear of marine cylinder liner materials with different surface finish were studied by measuring separation voltage and frictional waves in boundary and mixed lubrication.
