In both cases regions of rolling orientations coarsen fairly slowly and maintain a lamellar structure whereas regions of other orientations and of mixed rolling and other orientations show more pronounced coarsening and a more advanced evolution towards an equiaxed structure, see Fig. 7.

Introduction The biomaterials sector is rapidly expanding and significant advances have been made in the technology of biomedical coatings and materials, which provide a means to improve the wear of joints, change the biological interaction between implant and host and combine the properties of various materials to improve device performance [1, 2].
The X-ray diffraction experiments were performed on a D8 Advance Bruker AXS diffractometer with CuKα radiation equipped with a secondary curved graphite monochromator. 2.3 Adhesion and electrochemical characterization The corrosion behavior of the AISI 316L substrate and the Ti, TiN and TiCrN deposits is evaluated by a conventional electrochemical cell system with three electrodes.

Introduction Vegetable biomass has resumed our highlight in the global energy scenario, because of factors such as the development of more advanced technologies, the danger of exhaustion of fossil fuel reserves and the incorporation of environmental issues in the discussions on sustainable development [1-3].

This principle can be realized due to a number of factors, including improvement and optimization of thermal schemes and parameters of technological processes of NPP power units with different types of reactors, optimal selection of modern and advanced coolants and structural materials of nuclear reactor cores and steam generators, optimization of NPP power units operation modes based on modern methods of mathematical modeling. 3 Materials and Research Results The experimental determination of the nature and quantity of radiolysis products is carried out using various physicochemical methods, among which the most important are the method of pulsed radiolysis and the method of electron paramagnetic resonance, which allows the study of free radicals; various chemical methods are also widely used, for example, the method based on determining the ratio of components in redox systems.

However, the engineers' experience is that these processes are difficult to control, and that undesired behaviours may show up.
The physico-chemical phenomena may be "ordered" by a rational approach based on the engineer's need.
Summary and outlook The modelling of CVI is an exciting area in the sense that it connects a truly important application in materials fabrication to up-to-date issues in various academic domains of interest, featuring theoretical chemical engineering, physics of transport in porous media, image processing, numerical methods, applied mathematics, etc … CVI modelling is a rather mature scientific area : a large quantity of studies have identified the main phenomena, scales, couplings, and given useful optimization guidelines to engineers.
