Enhancing the engineering properties of the materials comprising the dams; b.
This method ensures that the liquefiable materials are removed and replaced by non-liquefiable materials.
The added materials may compose of gravel, rockfill or cement mixtures.
Typical embankment section showing zones of liquefiable materials: 2A, 2B and 2C layers.
Several options were considered for the foundation improvement included: (1) excavation and replacement of the liquefiable foundation materials; (2) construction of stone columns; (3) jet grouting and (4) both deep and shallow soil mixing of the foundation materials.

Monitoring and Characterization of Chemical Shrinkage during Curing in a RTM Resin Xueqin Li1, a, Zilong Zhang1, b, and Xiao-Su Yi1, c 1Science and Technology on Advanced Composites Laboratory, Beijing Institute of Aeronautical Materials,Beijing, 100095, China alinda04@gmail.com, bzzl-zhang@sohu.com, cxiaosu.yi@gmail.com Keywords: Chemical Shrinkage, Cure Monitoring, Fiber Bragg Grating, RTM Resin Abstract.
Among those methods, fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors have been widely used [11-13], because of their small size, easiness to be embedded in materials and structures, and low intrusion on mechanical properties of structures.
Experimental Material preparation.
The material used for this study is an epoxy resin applicable to Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM).

Materials The material at the centre of this investigation is the hardenable aluminum alloy AA6082 (AlMgSiMn) with a sheet thickness of 2.5 mm.
For increased accuracy for anisotropic materials, a refined yield criterion is required.

Introduction Mechanical press has the advantages of simple structure and high efficiency[1]..But the traditional mechanical press can't meet the requirements of the flexible adjustment of the slider working curve to meet the different materials and stamping process due to the fixed stamping pattern ,single movement characteristics and bad process adaptability[2].
