It is found that corrosion resistance of all amorphous alloys is better than that of the corresponding crystalline alloys.
The ultimate aim of amorphous alloys research is to develop the bulk metallic glasses with high glass forming ability and useful engineering properties.
This paper aims at Cu-Zr-Al glassy alloys, and investigates the effects of the additional micro-alloying elements (Ag, Y) on the glass formation, thermal stability and corrosion resistance of Cu-Zr-Al glassy alloys.

Selenium is also used in metallurgy as an additive to different alloys like steel, brass or other copper alloys to improve machinability.
These elements can form binary compounds semiconductors like: copper(I) selenide (Cu2Se, Cu2-xSe) or copper(II) selenide (CuSe, Cu3Se2).
Thin films of selenium and selenium compounds are commonly produced using a variety of physical and chemical vapor deposition methods.
The created intermetallic compounds are caused by a high reactivity of selenium and its strong affinity to copper.
Similarly, only peaks connected with the substrate and intermetallic compounds of selenium and copper are visible in diffractograms.

This study aims to determine the effect of cold rolling and austempering processes on the corrosion properties of the alloy.
CASS test is commonly used to evaluate the corrosion resistance of various alloys (chromium/nickel/copper).
Rust layer, including such compounds, would stop the aggressive reaction and protecting the underlying metal [7].
All three samples have many compounds composed of Magnetite (Fe3O4), Hematite (Fe2O3), Lepidocrocite (FeOOH), and Trevorite (Fe2NiO4).

Therefore, the Ce atoms would fill up the surface flaws
of the crystal grain of growing copper or its alloys, generating a membrane that stopped the crystal
grains from growing but being refined into crystallite instead.
Rare earth reacts with low-melting impurities to form rare earth compounds and intermetallics with high melting point.
The fact indicates that when the percentage of rare earth reached a certain level, its purifying effects in the copper base are not important any more; while rare earth reacted with impurities in copper to generate indissoluble compounds with poor conductivity.
Dispersed in the copper base, these compounds end up as impurities themselves and make the conductivity of the base to drop.

In future, we aim to develop new alloys designed for dispersoid based creep resistance combined with good electrical conductivity.
Material and Methods Four wrought aluminium alloys, chosen to represent different alloying systems, were investigated in this work.
They correspond well to similar results on Al-Mg-Si (6xxx) alloys [12].
Summary Longterm tests have shown a significant decrease in joint force for all tested alloys after 2700 hours, whereby alloys AA3105 and AA6101A-T7 have the highest remaining joint force.
