GMM(Giant Magnetostrictive Material) is a new functional materials, which can convert mechanical and magnetic energy to each other.
The MRF is produced by Chongqing Instrument Materials Research Institute and its relationship curve between magnetic flux density and shear yield strength is shown in Fig.4, which can be expressed as: τ=-779.7B3+684.5B2-11.38B-0.2499 (14) Fig.4 Relationship between magnetic flux Fig.5 Bingham model density and shear yield strength of MRF Stanway had proposed damping force Bingham model of MR damper[5] shown in Fig.5.

To
fully understand and predict the mechanical behavior of bones, not only the mechanical
characteristics but also the morphological characteristics should be investigated, because bone
tissues are a porous composite material.
Materials and Methods The 12 th thoracic vertebrae were obtained from 85 years female and 48 years male cadavers and these were immediately kept in freezer at -25.
For the material properties of vertebral trabecular bone in the FE models, the Young's modulus of 10 and the poisson's ratio of 0.3 [1] were utilized.
The material property for the FE analysis was considered to be isotropic and displacement boundary conditions were applied to the specimens to simulate a uniaxial compression test using ABAQUS6.4 (HKS INC., USA).
