In order to combine the intrinsic properties of both materials exists a group of compounds with high potential for advanced structural applications called metal-matrix composites (MMCs).
In this particular type of materials, the reinforcement/matrix interface plays a key role leading the overall performance.
The structural characterization of nanocomposites, evaluation of the milling process over the silica distribution in the matrix and their effects on mechanical response of composite materials are presented.
Experimental Procedure In the present work, pure gas-atomized Al powder (99.5% purity −325 meshes in size) and SNP (SiO2) were used as raw materials for composite fabrication.

Process the flatness error of workpiece
Measurement of the workpiece A flat workpiece of radius 10mm has been machined by the large two-axis lathe (as shown in Fig.1) in the laboratory, the material of the workpiece was LY16, the rotation speed was 110 rev/min, the cutting depth is 15μm, the feed rate 2mm/min.
