VALIDATION OF WELDING SIMULATIONS USING THERMAL STRAINS MEASURED WITH DIC Maarten De Strycker1,a, Pascal Lava1,b, Wim Van Paepegem2,c, Luc Schueremans3,d and Dimitri Debruyne4,e 1MeM2P research group, Catholic University College Ghent Gebroeders De Smetstraat 1, 9000 Ghent, Belgium 2Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Ghent University St.
To know the temperature in the material under the strain gauge, the thermocouples are placed around and close to the strain gauge.
Indeed, the temperatures are measured with thermocouples and these give the surface temperature of the material.
However, a bad contact between the material and the thermocouple measuring point yields a lower read-out temperature than the actual material temperature.

Introduction Recent development of construction materials has been focused on "eco-building materials".
In reality, this means the use of technologies with the lowest possible energy intensity, renewable raw materials, recycled and recyclable materials, the use of local resources and industrial waste materials.
Research teams keep looking for new ways of the utilization of these waste materials in various areas of construction materials.
When natural materials are completely and/or partially replaced with waste materials in the construction material segment, it brings savings for landfilling of these waste materials, protection of raw material resources and the environment and, ultimately, price decrease in comparison with the price of products based on natural raw materials.

In the decommissioning phase, demolition of energy system, disposal and recycling of materials are considered.
The life cycle primary energy use is estimated as the sum of the energy consumed in three life cycle phases, which includes energy consumed in exploration, extraction, processing, manufacturing, decommissioning and disposal of all the materials associated with the power generation system.
Singapore is amongst the very few countries outside of Europe that have negotiated an extended producer responsibility agreement with packaging manufacturers in which they use either recyclable materials or reduce the amount of materials that they used in packaging so that this does not end up as waste.
