Watered alcohol-soluble inorganic salts of metals (Na, K, Ba, Sr, Al, Pb, Co, Zn etc.) and mineral acids (e.g., H3BO3, H3PO4, and H2SeO3) may be used as dopants.
Concentration of dopants in recalculation on the solid residual can vary from (0.05-1) up to ~ (30-55) wt. % of ElxOy (where El – doping chemical element; x, y = 1, 2, 3).
A film-forming sol on the basis of Si(OEt)4, H2O, EtOH, H3BO3, nitrates of Al, Ca, K, and Na, as well as acid catalyst HNO3 has been mixed up with a corundum powder.

Alexander et al. [20] have reported that straight tungsten carbide-cobalt (WC-Co) cutting tool have longer life with titanium alloys than tungsten-titanium carbide-cobalt (WC-TiC-Co) or tungsten-tantalum carbide-cobalt (WC-TaC-Co) grades, when cutting speed is limited to 30 m/min.
Several research works on machining of Ti6Al4V at relatively high cutting speeds have been carried out, for example, Baker [21 reportedly turned Ti6Al4V with126 μm depth of cut at 20 m/s (1200 m/min) and stated that plastic deformation rate at suchhigh speed cutting is of the order of 10−7s−1.Shivpuri et al. [20] in the course of their study on Ti6Al4V chip formation, evaluated chip morphologies of Ti6Al4V at 60, 120 and 240 m/min for strain and temperature.
