Glass ceramic materials are widely used in dental application because of their strong similarity with natural teeth.
In this study LAS glass ceramic/glass materials were prepared by glazing processing and characterized in terms of mechanical flexural strength.
Preliminary results clearly points out that the application of a glass on the support leads to the decrease of the flexural strength if compared to the materials without any coating applied.

The Reissner’s plate bending theory with consideration of transverse shear deformation effects is adopted to study the fundamental fracture problem in functionally graded materials(FGMs) plates for a crack parallel to material gradient.
By means of the asymptotic expansion method, the crack-tip higher order asymptotic fields which are similar to the famous Williams’ solutions to homogeneous materials are obtained.
(3) Crack-Tip Higher Order Asymptotic Field The studies of Delale et al. [6, 7] show that the crack tip stress field would be equipped with the same square root singularity as that of homogeneous materials when the material properties of different composite materials at the interfaces are continuous.

Introduction WC-Co cemented carbides are materials of choice for tools and structural components by virtue of their unique combination of hardness, strength and wear resistance.
Very little prior work has addressed the microstructure of these materials [4].
Considering the microstructure of these materials will have very important impact on the final products, especially the microstructure of the substrate after the shaping process, the microstructure of these materials should be analyzed.
It also has been found that stress concentration and residual stress will be higher at the interface and can substantially reduce the load required to fracture materials [8].

The materials obtained may be used as catalyst carriers for CO oxidation, and as active components of sunscreen cosmetic products.
The materials obtained should have high purity, and the methods of their synthesis should allow a control of dimensional and functional properties.
