The steps may also cover a phase change material [29] to add energy storage term to keep water heated for longer period of time and accordingly extend productivity period of the solar still to beyond sunset.
Energy components in the form of heat are shown in Figures, as solar irradiation falling on the solar still, heat transfer within the solar still that includes the thermal radiation transmitted through the glass cover to the water surface and heat transfer by convection, radiation and evaporation form the water surface back to the glass cover, heat loss through the still opaque material and heat loss to the ambient air through both convection and radiation heat transfer modes.

This influence essentially depends on the methods of preparation and treatment of materials, resulting in different contents of lattice defects, and it especially manifests itself under the so-called thermal-hydrogen treatment and hydrogen induced hardening of a number of metallic materials [19,20], including palladium and palladium-based alloys.
The experimental methods of studying dislocation-type hydrogen traps and their influence on the apparent characteristics of hydrogen solubility and diffusivity in metallic materials are described in [21,22].

During the following years and decades, Tubandt’s achievements in the field of science which is now known as Solid State Ionics were, indeed, groundbreaking.
It did, indeed, open up a new field of science, viz.
In their 1969 paper, Nölting and Rein had, therefore, good reason to refute Perrott and Fletcher’s results, and Jost concurred with a detailed contribution to the Journal of Chemical Physics [12].
The basis for the modeling sketched in Section 5 was laid more than twenty years ago [135], with a view to describe the dynamics of mobile ions in disordered materials with crystalline or glassy structures.
