Enhanced Piezoelectric properties of Barium Titanate Single Crystals by Domain Engineering 〇Koichi Yako, Hirofumi Kakemoto,Takaaki Tsurumi, and Satoshi Wada Department of Metallurgy and Ceramics Science, Graduate School of Science and Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology,2-12-1 Ookayama,Meguro-ku,Tokyo 152-8552 Keywords: d33 piezoelectricity , engineered domain , barium titanate, single crystal , domain engineering ABSTRACT Engineered domain configuration was induced into barium titanate (BaTiO3) single crystals, and the d33 piezoelectricity was investigated as a function of domain size.
INTRODUCTION In ferroelectric single crystals, high performance of piezoelectric properties appears by domain engineering.
These ultrahigh piezoelectric properties were originated from one of the domain engineering techniques, i.e., "the engineered domain configuration"[5-6] "Engineered domain configuration" technique uses the anisotropy of the ferroelectric single crystals. [7-8] BaTiO3 crystal is one of the typical lead-free ferroelectrics.

However, this approach proved to be too complicated for engineering applications.
This version of the LA is aimed at solving engineering problems; therefore it was called the “engineering” version of LA.
This is one of the challenges for physics and mechanics of fracture of irradiated materials.
A function to describe the temperature dependence of number of the crack nuclei in the “characteristic” volume is a key element of the engineering version of LA.

Reverse Engineering The reverse-engineering technology calls the self-examination technology or the reverse engineering.
Reverse Engineering mainly includes Reverse Engineering of images, Reverse Engineering of software and Reverse Engineering of machines, etc.
Nowadays, most study on reversing engineering focus on material object reversing Refactoring [1].

The demands made on structural composite materials in modern design are increasingly stringent.
Understanding Structural Integrity (SI) provides the key to the successful design, certification, and safety of large composite structures and engineering composite materials.
Using these tools to determine constitutive equations relies on knowledge of the rules of materials behaviour.

Sub-ground erosion often resulted in severe problems in various engineering constructions, most of which is due to the sub-erosion in loess.
The key factors considered in the test include soil density as well as the initial water content.
In many cases, the lower side erosion acts as a key reason for the gravity erosion.
