Online since: August 2011
Description: This volume of Applied Mechanics and Materials contains the papers presented at the joint 2011 Annual British Society for Strain Measurement Conference and the 2011 Fall Society for Experimental Mechanics Conference.
This is the first time that the two societies have held their conferences together. However, it is the sixth time that the papers from an Annual British Society for Strain Measurement Conference have been published as a collection in a volume of Applied Mechanics and Materials.
Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
The 82 papers in this volume reflect the diverse nature of Experimental Mechanics, with the emphasis placed on Integrating Simulation and Experimentation for Validation. The papers come from both academia and industry, with more than half of the contributions originating from outside the UK; thus indicating the international flavour of this event.
Edited by: Dr. Pietro Vincenzini and Ghislain Montavon
Online since: October 2010
Description: The 22 peer-reviewed papers collected here together offer a plenitude of up-to-date information on “Ceramic Thin Films and Coatings for Protective, Tribological and Multifunctional Applications”. The papers are conveniently arranged into ADVANCES IN DEPOSITION, SURFACE MODIFICATION AND CHARACTERIZATION, PROTECTIVE COATINGS IN OXIDIZING AND HARSH ENVIRONMENTS, THIN FILMS AND COATINGS FOR TRIBOLOGICAL AND MULTIFUNCTIONAL APPLICATIONS.

Description: Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
Comprising more than 600 papers, the aim of this 3-volume set is to provide the reader with a comprehensive overview of the relevant trends in the research and development of all aspects of ceramics. It will constitute an excellent reference source for every researcher working in the field.
Edited by: Peter Schumacher, Paul Warren and Brian Cantor
Online since: January 2001
Description: Volume is indexed by Thomson Reuters CPCI-S (WoS).
Metastable, mechanically alloyed and nanocrystalline materials belong to a group of materials having very promising characteristics. In the present book, major new advances are reported in the field of bulk metallic glasses and bulk nanocrystalline materials; as prepared using devitrification or mechanical alloying and compaction. Other important issues include the understanding of processing kinetics leading to applications in various fields; in particular, the mechanical alloying of steels and the exploitation of the magnetic properties of mechanically alloyed materials.
