Abstract: In the deep drawing processes, the use of an optimal blank shape not only saves the material but also it may reduce the occurrence of defects e.g. wrinkling and tearing. In addition, finding the desirable flange contour, eliminate the trimming step in the deep drawing of parts with flange. The main objective of this study is to optimize the blank shape in order to produce a cylindrical cup with desirable flange contour and investigation of its effect on important parameters. Presently, to overcome this issue, a very expensive and time consuming trial and error method is used. In this study, a systematic method based on sensitivity analysis has been used to find the optimal blank to obtain a desirable flange contour for a cylindrical cup by hydromechanical deep drawing process. With the aid of a well-known dynamic explicit analysis code ABAQUS; optimum initial blank shape has been obtained. With the predicted optimal blank, both computer simulation and experiment are performed and the effect of blank shape on the some parameters such as thickness distribution and forming pressure of the formed cups were investigated. It is shown that formed cup with an optimum blank shape has a better thickness distribution in the rolled direction.

Abstract: The primary aim of any business is to maximise profit for a given level of effort. This is equally true for liquefied natural gas (LNG) transportation in which any possible reduction in capital and operational costs will attract the attention of the ship-owner. The main strategy for achieving this is to select the optimal combination of the main components of the vessel based on a given objective. There are no fixed regulations or formulae that need to be applied in selecting the combination of components; however several techniques have been developed over the years to assist with the process of ship design, such as the ship design spiral. The decision making processes for the selection of these main components need to be implemented at a preliminary stage because once these main components have been identified, the overall costs will be established and will be constrained over the ship’s life span. Modifications may be made to the selected components at a later stage, however this would come at a considerable cost and would incur significant programme delay because it is not simply a matter of buying a new component, it may also involve a significant re-arrangement of the ship’s layout in order to accommodate the new component. This would therefore, require the ship owner to fund both additional capital costs as well as the ongoing operational costs. This paper focuses on the effect of ship size on the selection of components for an LNG carrier.

Abstract: The article showed procedure of forging technological flow design modification of real component “fork”, with using of computer simulation. By using of the primary technological process at production was produced failure forgings, checking simulation showed incorrect material flow in filling of die cavity, and therefore it was needed to raw part design modifications. These modifications were suggested on base results obtained from simulation, the results were abolition of defects, resolution of problem and correctness verification of final forging technological flow.

Abstract: Generic technology plays an important role in sustainable development of industry. This study tries to focus on diffusion mode of generic technology for equipment manufacturing industry. Related characteristics and relationships between equipment manufacturing industrial chain and technology chain are shown. Diffusion and transmission of equipment manufacturing generic technology are summarized and extracted. It is effective in improving diffusion efficiency of generic technology, also is important signification to sustainable development of equipment manufacturing industry. For generic technology diffusion of other industries, it will also play a guiding role.

Abstract: A warehouse management system using the three-dimensional location tracking and positioning system based on time-of-flight principle is presented in this paper. Integrating three distance measurement sensors and computer programming to process the signals obtained from the sensors, the system can capture, store, and retrieve the three-dimensional position of steel coils located in a warehouse in real time. Updated information will also be stored in a database as a backup. Experiment shows that the system designed in this paper has the merits of real-time tracking of steel coils stored in a warehouse, or any uniformed storage locations.

Abstract: In this paper, the issue of composite defects diagnosis by applying the support vector machine (SVM) was addressed. The component analysis was performed initially to extract the features and to reduce the dimensionality of original data features. Kernel parameters selection of support vector machine which has great influence on the performance of defects classification has been discussed in this work. Precisely, we focus on wavelet transform to extract the feature from the original signals, adopt component analysis to do feature selection and apply support vector machine to classify the defects. This paper exploits the parameter optimization procedure to ensure the generalization ability of SVM. The result shows that multi-class SVM produces promising results and has the potential for use in fault diagnosis.

Abstract: Based on the principle of the control of magnetic field on arc spot motion, a compact and multi-function magnetic field steered arc source has been designed in this paper. The rotating magnetic field generator driven by small DC motors or AC motors has been also equipped behind the base of the target materials of magnetic field steered arc source. The magnet yoke fixed on shaft will be driven by the motors so as to promote the rotation of permanent magnets which are rationally distributed on magnet yoke. The different distribution of permanent magnets will produce the rotating magnetic field with different configuration structures and then the purpose of multi-control mode can be achieved. Meanwhile, the dynamic rotating magnetic field with different configurations have been also produced in this design through employing the simple and compact arc source as well as the permanent magnet with different distributions in order to improve the discharge form of arc spots, control the trajectory of arc spots, improve the utilization of target materials and the uniformity of etching as well as reduce or inhibit the emission of large particles. At the same time, the high-quality film can be also prepared so as to realize the arc spot control with various forms in an arc source, satisfy the different demands and expand the application of arc ion plating.

Abstract: Based on plasma physics, basic characteristics of magnetofluid and discharge mechanism of the arc spot, this paper proposes a deposition technology on the inner wall of long tube by magnetic and electric field enhanced arc ion plating. The conical target material structure immersed in the axial magnetic field is adopted as the arc source of arc ion plating. Studies have shown that this technology can achieve the effective coating on the inner wall of long tube, which means to deposit the fatal (Ti, Al) N films at the depth of 120mm in the inner wall of the 20mm stainless steel component. The thickness of (Ti, Al) N film is 0.3-1.5m and its micro-hardness reaches 20GPa, which can significantly improve the wear resistance and corrosion resistance of the inner wall of the components, thereby increasing the service life of stainless steel components.

Abstract: In order to detect the arc plasma, an in-depth analysis on the relationship between the technology and film properties is conducted in this article. In addition, a fast scanning Langmuir probe diagnostic system suitable for transient plasma diagnosis is also designed, coupled with the design scheme and schematic diagram. Regard the integrated circuit of MAX038 as the core,and utilize FET to input high-fidelity operational amplifier OPA604 as well as high power amplifier PA93 to complete the intelligent saw-tooth wave sweep frequency power with the output amplitude of ± 100V, output frequency ranging from 10Hz to 10MHz as well as the adjustable frequency and duty cycle. Then test the output waveform and the results show that the power module can precisely generate triangle wave, saw-tooth wave, rectangular wave (including square wave) and sine wave signal.
