Abstract: An unstable gait provides early warning of more serious conditions. In this study, we propose the use of pressure sensors embedded into a shoe pad along with a 3D accelerometer fastened to the knee. We have implemented a portable gait-measuring device integrated with a ZigBee wireless sensor network. Moreover, the step length, step speed, and step distance are easily calculated in the user interface. These data can then be used to distinguish the seven decision points of a complete gait cycle. Analysis of the gait cycle is done using fuzzy logic. The detected gait phases can be compared with standard gait parameters from the literature. Thus, the analyzed gait parameters can provide early detection of the emergence of an unstable gait. Finally, because our system measures knee flexion angle, it can detect the swing phase of the gait cycle.

Abstract: In this paper, we have discussed on the performance of the knowledge sharing for the multiple robot system which is equipped with the advanced telecommunication devices. This has enabled the mobile robots to perform advanced communication. We propose the utilization of the knowledge sharing robot system at manufacturing scenes, and demonstrate the performance by a simplified simulation. Applying this knowledge sharing system, which helps to improve the balance of the line, the improvement of the productivity and quality was observed. Consequently, the cost reduction and improvement of the efficiency shall be expected by introducing more sophisticated algorithm of knowledge sharing and distribution.

Abstract: In this paper, the implement of the solar cell for sun tracking is achieved. The sun energy is abundant with clean and green energy, but the efficiency is not benefit from the source of solar panel to the power conversion output for the practical application. This paper contains the implement starting from driving solar cell with the XY-axis servo motor to trace the optimal input solar light, then the maximum power point tracking circuit (MPPT) in the Boost conversion is included to increase the efficiency for lithium battery charging. The super capacitor banks are paralleled with the lithium battery to improve the inrush power load, which is benefit for prolong the lithium battery and solar panel life; The applications of output are included two parts; one is the small green man of traffic light and the other one is AC 110V urban electric conversion; the control core for this system is PSOC chip for its simple, practical and high efficiency demand.

Abstract: The thesis proposes to construct a small vertical axis wind turbine monitoring system by the wireless sensor measuring network. This paper uses a small vertical axis wind turbine to generate electricity, and then provide to the parking lot and street lights, but also practical to monitor the entire system. Our monitoring system is constructed by the module. This paper proposes the small vertical axis wind turbine with the blade structure can be adjusted the angle with mechanical means, which is the most important improvement. Monitoring system to monitor real-time status of the communication part of the ZigBee and Ethernet established in the remote monitoring platform and the establishment of an Access database. Our research will be expected to improve the efficiency of wind turbine power generation, increase the stability of the monitoring system and the overall cost of power generation to reduce the effect.

Abstract: A micro-coil array is designed and fabricated in this contribution by MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) approach. The array’s width is from a dozen microns to several tens of microns. UV-LIGA process is used to fabricate the array by means of sputtering, lithography and electroforming. The sensor array is based on 300μm thick silicon wafer, and is composed of single excitation Cu coils, two serial detection coils. Detection coils are sized from 10μm×10μm, 20μm×15μm to 30μm×15μm respectively, with 10 turns. Successful fabrication of the micro-coil sensor demonstrates the feasibility of UV-LIGA process for miniaturization of micro-coils.

Abstract: In this paper, we proposed a method of monitoring human driver by reconstructing trajectories which transportation vehicle followed. For safety and management of logistic transportation, it is important to monitor the states of driving behavior through the whole course of path. Since many accidents occur due to the reckless driving of the driver every year, continuous monitoring of the status of commercial vehicles is needed for safety through the entire path from start point to the destination. To monitor the reckless driving, we tried to monitor the trajectory of the vehicle by using vehicle's lateral acceleration signal. Using the correlation between steering angle and lateral acceleration, we could find the relationship between steering angle and acceleration, and finally it is possible to estimate the global direction of vehicle maneuvering. We conducted experiments to find the history of vehicle position on the curved road using Kalman Filter, and classified steering wheel condition (over-steering, and under-steering). The method is applied to central safety management system for safety control of vehicles transporting toxic gases.

Abstract: This paper presents some results of finite element (FE) analysis performed for membrane-type piezoceramic transducer for underwater acoustics applications. We studied the miniaturized sensor with perforated holes in the active PZT membrane, intermediate, and protective plates. In this investigation an influence of the polyimide plate viscous damping, the membranes dimensions and the relative area of the perforated holes on the frequency response of sensitivity was studied for the broadening and flattening the operating frequency band. An optimization of these key parameters using the genetic algorithm working with the device’s FE model was demonstrated.

Abstract: Considering some robot control systems which employ wireless networks to transmit sensor signals between the controller and the nonlinear controlled object, the fault detection is carried out. Firstly, based on T-S fuzzy model, the object is linearized. The fuzzy observer is designed and the error equation of the observer is given by using the fuzzy dominant subsystem rule. Secondly, the error equation is equal to the discrete switched system related to the hop count of the wireless transmission, and the stability of the error system is proved. Finally, a simulation example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method in this paper.

Abstract: On the demands of the quick and convenient information access and coal mine computerization and networking of the modern society, we design a new intellectual wireless gateway control system on the basis of S3C2410 and Linux, achieving the wireless connection of Intellectual coal mine monitoring system and the terminal facilities. Furthermore, we focus on the research of the system’s organization and its software design and control of its terminal equipments on the basis of ZigBee. This gateway’s design program is based on the combination of self-designed ZigBee stack architectures and the embedded system on the purpose of connecting network and exchanging information. This system has a lot of advantages, such as lower complexity, lower power dissipation, lower cost, higher safety etc. And it is certain that its market will be huge in the future.
