Internet of Things Based Education: Definition, Benefits, and Challenges

Abstract:

This paper first gives an overview of the Internet of things based education technology, which includes the definition and the status. Moreover, we analyze the benefit of the internet of things based education, which is mainly about the wider geographic coverage and Real-time access and independence. Furthermore, we also introduce the concept of mobile education which is a realistic scenario of Internet of things based education. We summarize the features of the mobile education, and also outline the challenges. Finally, we also propose a cloud based mobile education architecture, which holds the characteristics of flexibility and expansibility.
