Abstract: The role and tasks of production logistics in an enterprise depends on many factors, as well as the appropriate definition of logistics. Development of the concept of supply chains has caused a broader view of logistics. The fundamental goal of production logistics can thus be formulated as the pursuance of greater delivery capability and reliability with the lowest possible logistic and production cost. Currently, the integration of production planning with logistics become more common in many companies. Production systems are special performance systems which transform input material into physical goods. As logistic networks supply the input and distribute the output of production systems, production and logistics are closely interrelated. Many designers still do not take into account the supply chain and does not use the system approach. Interesting approach is proposed as part of Lean enterprises. It requires a determination of value stream, then the mapping and improvement.

Abstract: This article presents the results of research, which was conducted in Polish enterprises, where the distribution processes take place and are an integral part of the logistics processes. Distribution processes were examined in regards of levels of green logistics being implemented. The presented results illustrate the extent to which green logistics is practically used in Polish companies

Abstract: Corporate logistics a major tool used to facilitate corporate goals. By definition it is a set of tasks, arranged in a way that promotes optimum material, information and value flow during the transformation process. As the above definition implies, the corporate logistics provides visualization of material flow throughout the corporation. Whereas the planning defines what will be produced, the actual production defines the production means. In contrast, the logistics provides for means and measures to ensure production preparedness, providing not only for the actual production of goods but also for a timely and effective information flow in order to achieve optimum balance of all flows in support of corporate objectives.

Abstract: Planning presents base of all other managerial function of the company and it runs at all levels. In case company wants to be competitive, it must plan all its activities, while one of the most important plans in industrial company presents plan of production. Exactly from it all other activities are developed. Contribution is orientated to the processes that directly depend on planning of production, mainly from acceptance of order, stocks ́ analysis, determination of goals, production process to quality control. Its goal is to suggest increasing of effectiveness in process of production planning with orientation to concrete project in chosen company that would bring also costs saving.

Abstract: This article devotes particular attention to the usage of information logistics in the issue of determining the needs of server security. The article addresses the principles implementation in logistics in the system design and evaluation process through the server virtualization solutions implementation at the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice.

Abstract: The paper presents a conceptual framework for measurement, monitoring, and evaluation of an industrial company and supply chain Green Transport level. The framework contains five main phases – preliminary analysis, transport system analysis, selection of assessing parameters, taxonomy development, and evaluation. For each phase are defined fundamental principles and recommended tools. The verification of the designed conceptual framework was performed on a real supply chain of the European automotive industry.

Abstract: The content of this contribution is aimed at presenting the characters and the tendency of logistics management in terms of globalization. The contents involved in this paper regard the mutually coherent approaches and methods that are suitable for logistics firms’ management, such as Supply Chain Management, Just in Time, Kanban, The outsourcing and IT support of the logistic processes, their advantages and disadvantages with regard to their usefulness in logistics management in a company, as well as the rationalization of these logistical processes are needed to search for the optimization. They will also ensure their effective interaction with other business processes within an enterprise logistics system. The authors have also discussed the strengths and weaknesses of the application tools of logistics in the global market.

Abstract: Solution of problems in the field of ecology and environment has an important place at the state level, but also at the level of civil initiatives and individuals. It is in the result of increasing limitedness of natural resources and environmental consciousness. Eco-logistics is important effective tool which is the object of study, discussions of many experts in logistics, because it provides a wide scope of application. The main mission of eco-logistics is underling the importance of production processes, services and other activities connected with logistics impact on the environment. Suitable way of eco-logistics implementation creates conditions for logistics costs reduction and also for natural resources and environment saving. The paper presents new approach to eco-logistics and its new definition.

Abstract: Neural networks are methods inspired by animals´ central nervous systems, particularly by the human brain. As one of the modern mathematics methods, neural networks have been used to solve a wide variety of both practical and theoretical tasks. The aim of this paper is to illustrate the use of neural networks for modelling of passenger dynamics in the airport terminal environment. This model could be used for passenger flow control, since for the management to be appropriate it should involve passenger dynamics prediction for effective and accurate passenger flow modelling and simulation.

Abstract: The main aim of the paper is a comparative analysis of sustainable city logistics among capital cities in the EU. In order to conduct the study the Electre III/IV method has been applied. The author has developed indicators on the basis of European statistics, national statistics of EU countries, various reports and projects. Due to the lack of data this analysis is limited to a certain extent. The Electre III/IV method allowed the author to develop the ranking of capital cities in terms of selected economic, environmental and social aspects of city logistics.
