Abstract: At present, intermodal logistics centers play an important role in the world in context of transport and logistics services. The purpose of this paper is to propose the methodology for selecting the appropriate storage area design for intermodal transport units (ITU ́s) in intermodal logistics center. In this matter, four different scenarios of storage area design were taken into. Storage area configuration can significantly influence the logistics and transport services productivity and can have a significant impact on the economics effectiveness of the enterprise. In the paper, the AHP method is used in the context of selecting the appropriate design. This method is able to assess each design in regard to each of the determined criterion and finally prioritize all the designs.

Abstract: Strategic location of the distribution warehouse is a fundamental role of the strategic business management. The article shows an example of allocation calculations for distribution warehouse using three methods such as – method of axial distance, method of quadratic distance and Cooper’s Iterative Method based on WGS 84 coordinate system. In the final part of the article there are calculated and compared results of an objective function for space allocation.

Abstract: The motivation factor of individual employees of a car repair shop working at various levels has an extraordinary impact on fast and reliable completion of car repair orders. The human factor plays an irreplaceable role in the process of implementing repairs, and respective and adequate qualification and corresponding appraisal method are very important. The performance appraisal of employees of a car repair shop and their financial reward and salary are very closely correlated. The article is focused on the proposal of motivators and their hierarchic structure for multicriteria performance appraisal of the car repair shop employees.

Abstract: The successful rationalization of production and the subsequent formation of assembly-line production in the footwear industry has evolved from its deepest post-war economic crisis. People who needed to produce the best quality shoes at a reasonable price demanded changes in the system of production and sales. Rationalization introduced in the manufacture of footwear used modern machines that were scientifically and optimally distributed in manufacturing processes. Proceedings of the race was comprehensively carried out according to the production plans from raw material to the sale of final products in stores. The whole system was characterized by a struggle against all losses and defects, against wasting time, energy and material either of an individual or a team work.

Abstract: The paper presents a proven method used for supporting the implementation management control process of RFID technologies to track the location of objects in a retail environment. Using a SWOT analysis, we identified several scenarios that guide the company in the implementation process of the technology according to its own chosen strategy. In accordance with our results, non-traditional applications of the UHF RFID technology could have a high application potential. The outcome of our work may in the future provide the basis for applying the described solution that could enable a deeper study of interactions between the allocation of product classes on the sales floor and retail customers.
