Abstract:

The urban construction represents a dynamic development process. It not only maintains close ties with the tradition but also highlights the great expectation for the future, so we are faced with the problem of the traditional inheritance and development and its essence lies in the transmission of information, which, in turn, follows the principle of iteration. Therefore, it has a fractal characteristic. This research paper focuses on the modern application of the traditional street, lane and courtyard from the perspective of the information theory and the fractal theory so as to activate the traditional urban elements and give more vigor and vitality to the modern city.
