Abstract: This paper discussed on design and development of fire warning system using automated remote messaging method. This device enables to alert the owner whenever fire occur that need rapid attention towards the building. This is maybe due to carelessness of user or gas leakage. Fire warning system is an existing project but it will be enhanced. This project discussed the design and implementation of a fire alarm system using the microcontroller which controlled the entire system. This system comprised of smoke detector that linked to PIC and GSM Modem. When smoke detected, the fire alarm will triggered and send a signal to the PIC. The PIC will process the data and transmit the signal to the GSM modem. The GSM modem will send message to alert the building owner. The owner can make further action by informing the nearest fire department. This module is applied for transferring of GSM SMS message to the owner mobile number. The devices can be the early and fast prevention system for building owner.

Abstract: This paper describes the high speed and the cost effective of the general purpose industrial control system named as Programmable controller for industrial automation (PCIA). It is a replacement of expensive controllers/ PLCs that are used in industries for automation purpose. PCIA is real-time power efficient and reliable controller with a facility of data acquisition and monitoring on its touch screen using interfacing module. This control system can automate any type of industrial machinery and processes. The core element of PCIA is programmable AVR (Advance Virtual RISC) microcontroller which controls each and every action of Programmable controller for industrial automation. It compromises of nine different modules CPU, HMI, digital input, digital output, analog input, analog output, thermocouple module and power supply modules. The software of PCIA is written in C language. Special circuitries are used in power supply and other modules are also used to protect the system from different industrial noises.

Abstract: Timah Tasoh serves as a source of drinking water and industrial supplies, irrigation, tourism, as well as flood mitigation for the state of Perlis. However, the dam is also become one of the causes of flooding in the state and it gives a terrible consequences resulting in losses of various aspects. Therefore, to overcome this problem, an automated control system and monitoring system have been developed for controlling the operation and monitoring the status of the service spillway gates at Timah Tasoh dam. The system was developed by using the programmable logic controller (PLC) for controlling the operation of the spillway to release the water out of the dam at the rate prescribed and graphical user interface (G.U.I) for the spillway gate status monitoring purpose. The program developed involves the control of six spillway gates in stages depending on water level in the dam. The operations of controlling and monitoring the spillway gates then were tested through the simulation in order to see whether the system operated as required.

Abstract: This paper presents a discrete integral sliding mode control (DISMC) to control motion servo system. In DISMC, the order of the motion equation is equal to the order of original system. The past value of the disturbance is taken as the estimate of its present value. The controller is designed to be capable to achieve tracking even for the uncertain system. The designed controller will be compared with Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) and discrete Proportional Integral derivative (PID) controller to observe the capability for controlling the system. Simulations demonstrate that the DISMC is highly robust to control although exist uncertainties in the system.

Abstract: Anechoic chambers are widely used in performing EMC measurements according to the established EMC standards. As in space area, EMC measurement is critically important to ascertain all of electrical and electronic components in the satellite body will function correctly without fail during launching and operation mode. Recognizing the needs and importance of performing the EMC measurements, the shielding performance of the chamber should be prioritized to ensure the interference of electromagnetic wave from outside going to inside the constructed chamber does not exist. As to maintain the shielding element, periodic checking and inspection should be well planned by conducting a specific test. This paper outlines a series of procedures that are developed while running the test. The test will characterize the shielding performance at four (4) frequency ranges using different types of antenna set. Typical test results are gathered and presented at the measured frequencies. Based on the results, it is concluded that the shielding performance of anechoic chamber is standing in good condition at three (3) ranges of frequencies except for frequency of 10 kHz to 200MHz. Several steps are recommended to remove or eliminate the random noise.

Abstract: Assembly, Integration and Test Centre at National Space Agency (ANGKASA) consist of Reverberation Acoustic Test Facility (RATF). The test facility are used to generate very high sound pressure levels for satellite testing, space vehicle components including flight hardware. This reverberant type of chamber is capable to simulate acoustic field of rocket launch. This paper is discussed on the requisite of high-intensity acoustic testing. The characteristic of chamber and the noise generating capabilities for high-intensity acoustic testing are described. The maximum requirement of chamber at 155dB spectrum profiling result is discussed in this paper.

Abstract: This paper focuses on making some review and observation on the performance of equipment named Mass Properties Measurement System (MPMS) which capable to calculate the center of gravity (CG), moment of inertia (MOI) and Product of Inertia (POI) of a satellite. Before approving to receive such a huge machine/equipment consist of mechanical and electronic structure, National Space Agency (ANGKASA) which acts as a Malaysian Government Agency has to go through an Acceptance Test Procedure (ATP) to compare with the factory acceptance result on its performance review. The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) for this machine has been done earlier in United States (USA) as the equipment is manufactured in Connecticut, USA. This ATP is responsible on determining the requirements of a specification or contract are met or not by conducting test which is commonly applied for engineering and its various subdisciplines and the test have been witnessed by a Malaysian Research Institute; SIRIM Berhad, local and international contractors as well as the principal or manufacturer of the equipment itself and took place in ANGKASA, Banting, Selangor. It may involve chemical tests, physical tests, or performance tests by comparing the results with FAT [1].POI-1000M Rotary table, a rotor, deadweights, a compressor and a beam are the main components to be used for the acceptance performance test assisted by a control system for operators to calculate the desired measurements. Results confirmed that the ATP and FAT results are finally been compared and the equipment is successfully approved.

Abstract: This paper focuses on the measurement of Reverberation Time of a high intensity acoustic chamber in Malaysia Space Center that will be used for satellite’s mechanical testing. 1/3 octave-band reverberation time characteristics are presented to validate the performance and capabilities of this chamber. The measurement was performed with reference to ISO 3382, Acoustics - Measurement of Reverberation Time in Auditoria standard. Results were successfully obtained and had shown that the chamber produced high Reverberation Time, up to 33 seconds.

Abstract: This template This paper presents a system that provides the most reliable GPS tracking solution for electric powered transportation systems to move people around the sustainable city which can promise of an unmatched quality for giving most accurate location with up-to-date information such as Location, vehicle status, fuel consumption, temperature monitoring, seatbelt status and control to manage your assets. For the system we proposed to use GPS module (u-blox all-in-one GPS receiver for high sensitivity (-162 dBm), fastest connectivity). The hardware shall have a built-in 3-axis accelerometer for motion detection and power saving. Software is modern, sophisticated, full featured, multi-user and error-free software. It is designed for PDAs and smart-phones; hence no downloading of apps or programs is necessary.

Abstract: This paper investigates the usage of Arduino microcontroller to control closed loop of IPMC actuator response designed for compact underwater application. We demonstrate control of single Ionic Polymer Metal Composite (IPMC) actuator by PID controller using MATLAB/Simulink Arduino Input Output (ArduinoIO) support package. Experimental results show that the microcontroller able to differentiate response speed and stability of IPMC actuator with different thicknesses. Based on Arduino data acquisition results, thinner IPMC (t1) has more than 5 times respond speed than thicker IPMC (t2). However, IPMC t1 has lower steady-state stability (higher noise) compared to IPMC t2 due to IPMC actuator mechanism factors and current setup limitation for Arduino microcontroller. Therefore, added with further improvements in term of analog read sampling rate and analog write resolution, Arduino microcontroller can accurately control and analyse the IPMC actuator, thus manage to replace expensive and bulky current DAQ hardware.
