Abstract: In this paper, we study an an algorithm for accurately extracting the outline of Corneal Endothelial Cell images according to the structure and feature of the corneal endothelial cells. Firstly, we reduce the influence of uneven exposure to segmentation effect using histogram equalization. Secondly, reduce the image noise by Gaussian filtering. At last, research the classical algorithm of image segmentation through the contrast experiment and then select a simple and effective local NiBlack dynamic threshold algorithm. The experimental result shows that this processing method is not only simple, but also can segment the corneal endothelial cell images clearly, and provides a good foundation of data for accurate identification of the following images.

Abstract: Finger vein recognition refers to a recent biometric technique which exploits the vein patterns in the human finger to identify individuals. Finger vein recognition faces a number of challenges. One critical issue is the performance of finger vein recognition system. To overcome this problem, a finger vein recognition algorithm based on one kind of subspace projection technology is presented. Firstly, we use Kapur entropy threshold method to achieve the purpose of intercepting region of finger under contactless mode. Then the finger vein features were extracted by 2DPCA method. Finally, we used of nearest neighbor distance classifier for matching. The results indicate that the algorithm has good recognition performance.

Abstract: The study was aimed at investigating the relationship between the acute attack of elderly bronchial asthma and air pollution, and climatic change. 126 Old people who were treated and confirmed with the acute attack of bronchial asthma in Respiratory Outpatient Department of Jilin City Central Hospital were chosen as the research subjects. The relationship between the acute attack of elderly bronchial asthma and air pollution, and climatic change was studied by conducting a questionnaire survey to analyzing the inducing factors. The results showed that the morbidity of acute attack of elderly bronchial asthma in the winter was higher than that in the summer, and there were also differences in it among the different areas, namely, the morbidity in Longtan District (Industrial Area) > that in Changyi District (living area) > that in Fengman District (tourism areas) (P <0.05); the first factor to induce the acute attack of elderly bronchial asthma was the cold stimulation, followed by the air pollution, upper respiratory infection, emotional and unknown. There is a direct relationship between the acute attack of elderly bronchial asthma and air pollution, and climatic change. The acute attack of elderly bronchial asthma can be prevented by improving the elderly patients’ lifestyle to reduce the stimulation of air pollution and climatic change.

Abstract: The biological toxicity test of luminous bacteria has been widely applied. However, sensitivity of this test needs to be further improved. Cell membranes are bacteria’s first barrier against outside invasions. In this research, permeability of cell membranes will be changed so as to improve toxicity detection sensitivity of vibrio qinghaiensis (Q67). During the cultivation process of Q67, the Ethylene Diamine Tetraacetic Acid (EDTA-Na2) will be added and the hydrophobic fluorescent probe N-Phenyl-1-Naphthylamine (NPN) will be used to test changes of Q67 cell permeability. In addition, the low temperature centrifuge method will be used to eliminate interferences of residual EDTA of the nutrient medium to the acute toxicity test. The microporous plate method of biological toxicity test will be used to test the acute toxicity of K2Cr2Q7, the phenol and the desmetryn on Q67 before and after the permeability is modified. The results show that: during the cultivation process of Q67, if 2.0 mmol/L EDTA-Na2 is added, 40.2% of its absorbability to NPN can be improved. What is more, normal growth and bioluminescent property of Q67 will not be affected. EC50 of the K2Cr2Q7, the phenol and the desmetryn to the modified Q67 is 4.39 mg/L, 128.75 mg/L and 145.89 mg/L respectively. Compared with those before the modification, their EC50 reduces 45.70%, 39.77% and 38.61% respectively. Thus, during the cultivation process of Q67, the addition of EDTA-Na2 can improve its permeability to poisonous substances and enhance the sensitivity of Q67 biological toxicity test.

Abstract: The need for renewal of disused urban area is widespread in many context of south Italy where the lack of public funds make difficult the management and maintenance of sites that often have considerable historical and architecture values. The choice of functions that can represent elements of attraction for the economic and social regeneration of these disused sites is a complex problem, given the multiplicity of interests involved and the uncertain factor determined by the non-typical conditions of real estate market, both from the demand and the supply side.In the present paper we propose to implement a choice model, based on the integration of multicriteria analysis and random utility model (referred to McFadden theory), able to support a participatory decision process of selecting alternative scenarios of requalification of an urban disused area located in a small village near the city of Naples, in the south of Italy. The positive results obtained show that the model proposed can be a useful decision support tool in environments characterized by high complexity, where the objective is precisely to highlight the elements that influence the dynamics of choice for building shared “bottom up” development strategies.

Abstract: Fire accidents may induce serious human casualties, building damages, and financial losses. The association rule of data mining technique was applied in this research to identify the characteristics, potential factors, and hidden relationships, that were associated with each other in the building fires of Taipei during 2007-2010. The results of this paper are insightful and can be used to assist fire officials and citizens in reducing the chance of a fire accident, as well as, in mitigating the damages of a fire hazard.

Abstract: With increasingly serious energy crisis, the construction industry is one of the three major energy consumption industries. How to realize the sustainable development of energy, promote energy-saving building, realize ecological urban development, have become the focus of construction industry. This paper analyzes and discusses the energy saving measures should be taken into consideration when the different architectural design phase and the two kinds of optimization problem under arbitrary axisymmetric load.

Abstract: This study mainly explores local residents’ cognition toward the impact of holding sport events on the environment. The population for this study is 18-65 year-old residents of Neimen, the place holding Song-Jiang Jhen Battle Array event. Out of 400 survey questionnaires distributed during and after the advent of end of Neimen Song-Jiang Jhen Battle Array event, 306 usable responses were received from participants, indicating a high valid response rate of 76.5%. The results show that (1) residents’ gender and educational background do not exert significant differences among cognition toward positive and negative environmental impacts; (2) younger residents are found to show higher cognition toward positive and negative environmental impact; (3) unmarried residents exert higher positive environmental impact than married residents; (4) residents who support future re-organization of this event are proven to have higher positive environment impact cognition than those who do not; and (5) local residents obviously support the re-organization of Neimen Song-Jiang Jhen Battle Array event in the future.

Abstract: Abstract. The rapid development of industrialization and urbanization brought about changes in the economic structure, forms of production and lifestyle, resulting in deterioration of the natural and human environment, as well as many intangible cultural landscape degradation. To display intangible cultural heritage landscape in the form of eco-museum aims to achieve harmony between man and nature and human environment. Eco-museum with community residents’ participation in live state display is the way to retain the cultural heritage, is a means of protecting intangible cultural heritage and tradition. In this paper, based on the concept of ecological museum theory and practice, the author makes an overview of the history of establishment of eco-museums in accordance with our national conditions, to avoid the homogenization of intangible cultural heritage display modes, and to improve the cultural landscape heterogeneity and retain historical memory of diverse cultures, to protect natural and cultural environment of the country.

Abstract: The comprehensive ecological index system for cities of Jilin Province was formed by mean square difference method to analyze the annual level of social development, ecological and environmental development, economic development and comprehensive ecological environment for 4 eco-polluted cities (Jiutai, Dehui, Dunhua, Yanji) during 2002-2012. Then the effect on improving urban ecological environment by building diversion dam was evaluated quantitatively for each city. The comprehensive ecological index values of cities had all represented a smooth upward tendency except a marked growth in 2007. The diversion dam could significantly promote the comprehensive urban ecological environment level for cities of Jiutai, Dunhua and Yanji, but not for the city of Dehui.
