Abstract: Based on the high speed camera combined with a microscopic lens the near-nozzle spray surface structure and flow characteristics of the high pressure diesel fuel jet were investigated. During the steady period of the spray development, the periodically undulatory structure was observed at the circular direction of the jet at the near nozzle area at the injection pressure of 5MPa. The atomization of the spray improved and the periodical structure was veiled by fine droplets at higher injection pressure of 40MPa. During the closing period of the nozzle lift, the spiraling shape was also observed along the surface of the fuel jet which indicates the internal helical flow characteristic.

Abstract: With the continuous development of infrared-guided weapons, the survival of ship at sea faces increasingly challenges especially high-risk waters. The ship gas turbine exhaust ejector is the core component parts, charged with the task of reducing or even eliminating the infrared radiation signal of ship gas turbine exhaust systems. In the designing of exhaust ejector, structure forms of nozzle have a big influence on its ejector effect. Making a rational design of nozzle, which working in a narrow space, to reduce the exhaust temperature effectively while minimizing the impact of flow of gas turbine body has always been a focus and difficulty. In this article, a multistage ejector is designed by adding a second-stage ejector section based on an independent design of single-stage ejector.

Abstract: The selection of a desirable machine is an important concern for the manufacturing firm. The selection process contains some critical selection attributes and the task of this process is to choose the desirable machine from a number of candidate machines. Then the machine selection problem is actually a multi-attribute decision making problem. This paper will develop a preference selection index method to solve the problem of machine selection in a flexible manufacturing cell. A case study is used to demonstrate that the proposed method is effective and feasible.

Abstract: According to the intersected cross-sections, an automatic method of constructing geological model was proposed. Firstly, in this method, these cross-sections are divided into some unit cells, and the auxiliary lines are increased and sheared by some geological rules in each unit cell. Finally the geological surfaces are created to form geological entities. This method can be applied in constructing geological entity model automatically, which contains the complex geological phenomena such as Pinch-out, changes and so on. This method also can avoid the modeling process of diverse manual way, raises the modeling speed.

Abstract: The segmentation and localization of the microscopic cell image is studied based on digital image processing. Firstly, the microscopic cell image is preprocessed by means of Median filter to eliminate the noises. Then, according to the comparison experiments, Prewitt operator is selected for the segmentation of the microscopic cell. Finally, localization of the microscopic cell after segmentation is accomplished by the projection method and experiment results verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Abstract: Investigated is the anti-plane problem of functionally graded strip with an inclined crack sandwiched between a half infinite substrate and an elastic strip. Fourier transforms and integral equation are used to reduce the crack problem to a system of singular integral equation with Cauchy kernel, which is solved numerically by application of the Gauss-Chebyshev integration formula. Numerical results show the effects of the material gradient parameter and crack configuration on the field intensity factors of the crack.

Abstract: Frequency synthesizer provides frequency source for modern communication systems and computer systems. It is an essential part to the modern electronic system devices. This paper describes a wideband, frequency agile, low phase noise, low spurious frequency synthesizer. By using frequency multiplying technology, an S-band frequency source as the DDS clock is designed. The actual frequency source was tested. The test results show that the frequency synthesizer achieves the desired objectives.

Abstract: The design of the amplitude spaced antenna array is relatively simple, but it has a relatively large drawback that its sidelobe is at a relatively high level. In this paper, we use a series network to feed the radiating elements of the array antenna to achieve the amplitude and phase control. Comparing with the ordinary feeding array, it effectively reduces the loss of electrical networks and improves the space utilization of the antenna. A planar microstrip patch array antenna using the series feeding and resonating at 35.75GHz is designed. The simulation result shows that this antenna array has a gain of 22dB, small sidelopes and stable performance.
