Abstract: The application of online detection technology for grain moisture is one of the most effective ways to improve the quality of grain drying. The online detection system for grain moisture consists of three parts: online remote module of ingoing grain moisture (charging), online remote module of outgoing grain moisture (discharging), and the host controller. It adopts JZ873 wireless transparent transmission module to realize the wireless data communication among various modules, and to formulate the communication drive. In practice, this system has characteristics such as flexible use, reliable data transmission, and it is more suitable for those testing and control conditions where it is inconvenient to wiring.

Abstract: The design of a Fuzzy-PID controller involves setting the fuzzy rules, membership functions and its associated scaling factors. How to obtain a better control result and how these scaling factors affect the controller’s performance are still a challenge. In this paper, the automatic position control system of a Hille 100 experimental rolling mill was used as a research testbed. Based on the mathematical control model of the rolling mill, a Fuzzy-PID controller was developed, and the process of implementing global optimization considering all these factors simultaneously by using genetic algorithm is introduced in detail. Through simulation, the performance of the control system with multifactor optimized Fuzzy-PID controller is given, and compared with that with only the fuzzy rules optimized in the controller. By simulation tests, it is found that these factors will influence the control performance of the controller, and that they are highly coupled with each other. The more factors for a Fuzzy-PID controller are optimized, the better the solution will be. It can also be inferred from the study that asymmetrical membership functions have more potential in improving a fuzzy controller’s performance than symmetrical ones. The multifactor optimization method presented in this paper can in principle also be used to solve other complicated optimization issues.

Abstract: For the online measurement of rolling guide grinding process, the design of an online measuring instrument for rolling guide-grinding size is introduced. This instrument has two sets of semiconductor lasers and photodiodes as the position detectors of workpiece, two sets of monolithic cutting parallel springs and voice coil motors as the drivers of probes, two sets of inductance displacement sensors as the size detectors. The rolling guide grinding size can be measured online by this instrument using the relative measurement method with data acquisition card, industrial control computer and top controlling software. This instrument has satisfied the operating requirements with practicality and reliability which is verified by the measurement results.

Abstract: Measurement System Analysis is of vital importance in a Six Sigma project. Variable measurement system takes the advantage of being practical and efficient. This paper focuses on the effect of sample size selection on error estimation of repeatability and reproducibility(R&R). After the discussion about the interval estimation of relevant statistics of R&R, this paper continues to analyze how the confidence interval is influenced by the number of operators, the number of samples and times of repeating measurements and a reasonable sample size in assessing the R&R of a measuring system is established for more effectiveness and efficiency.

Abstract: The steel strip processing systems rely on accurate lateral positioning to achieve high processing speeds and improved product quality. In real steel strip process systems are not just nonlinear and time-varying but also highly uncertain. This research focuses on the disturbance estimation approach to modeling unknown dynamics of physical plant. The Euler’s beam theory with boundary condition is considered to derive the equation of the moving steel strip. To consider unknown dynamics in the real steel strip, a nonlinear state space equation is employed to describe unknown dynamics of the moving steel strip. The nonlinear part of this system is proposed as an unknown disturbance input to this system. The neural-based observer (NNO) is designed to estimate nonlinear unknown dynamics. The online weight-updating mechanism is a modified version of the backpropagation algorithm with a simple structure together with an error-modification term added to guarantee the robustness of the observer. The measure of sensor and estimation of observer pair of input and output is used to train the weight of NN. The simulation and measure result shown that the NNO can track the un-modeling dynamic of nonlinear systems.

Abstract: In order to achieve the target of controlling SO2 emissions in fumes in a short period of time in China, a SO2 on-line monitoring system (CEMS) has been developed by the authorased on the principle of electrochemistry. This system consists of two subsystems: (1) SO2 mass concentration monitoring and (2) SO2 flow velocity and flow rate monitoring. In the paper, the procedure of system and working principle and method of SO2 mass concentration monitoring subsystem are described in detail (SO2 flow velocity and flow rate monitoring subsystem is described by another paper).Two subsystems work synchronously to monitor and calculate the SO2 emissions, then the on-line monitoring of SO2 emissions is achieved. Through experiment and testing, monitoring result of the system is stable and reliable, which has reached the national monitoring standards and passed the appraisal.

Abstract: The key problems of designing rheogeniometer product are divided into two aspects: one is the method of designing the hardware and measuring the shear rate; another is how to compute the viscosity accurately by the data of the shear rate, both are necessity. Since making plans, the connection of the mechanisms, the electric elements and the software is considered comprehensively. In order to solve the key problem that the rotate speeds of turntable in the rheogeniometer make error often, a method called Precision Design is built up, which could improved the detecting precision of the rheogeniometer.

Abstract: An effective monitoring system is conducive to grasp the dynamic evolution process of disaster occurring, to study the disaster-mechanism, to forecast the future development trend and ultimately to predict the disaster occurring. In this paper, focused on the surface displacement, an automatic on-line monitoring system of tailings dam which based on GSM/GPRS communication platform has been researched and developed. As a part of tailing pond disaster monitoring system, the researched and developed monitoring system could monitor the surface displacement of tailings dam automatically and remotely, and also can collect deformation data regularly and transfer to distant control center real-time. According to its application in an iron tailings dam in Diaxian, Shanxi Province of China, the researched and developed monitoring system could achieve the same monitoring effect with the electronic total station. This automatic monitoring system provided another method to grasp the dynamic evolution process of tailings dam from stability to failing down.

Abstract: The RCF life of bearing balls is a main method to evaluate the performance of bearing materials and their production technology. In general, the RCF life of ceramic balls is a reliable technique to asses whether or not they are suitable to be used in rolling bearings. The rolling contact fatigue test has practical characteristic. The long time, noise heavy make the tester tired. The fault occurring, the chain reaction is generated. The test rig destruction is strong unless quick treatment. The characteristic frequency of test rig rotating member is calculated. The fault is diagnosed by characteristic frequency. The test indicated that the fault diagnosis accurate, effective and feasible.
