Experimental Study on Application of Cold-Welding Technology in Engine Remanufacturing Field

Article Preview

Abstract:

In this study, the surface defects on HT250 material used in diesel engine cylinder were repaired by cold-welding technology, then the microstructure and properties of Ni-base repaired layers were comprehensively analyzed, and the distribution regularity of base surface residual stress was obtained. Analysis results show that internal structure of repaired layer is uniform. The metallurgical combination between repaired layer and base has a good interface with few defects and small Heat Affected Zone (HAZ). The hardness value of repaired layer is lower than that of base. Tensile strength of base is increased after repaired and the distribution range of base surface residual stress is quite small. This research provides a reference to widespread application of cold-welding repair technology in engine remanufacturing field.
