Abstract: Resource shortage and people’s concern about carbon emissions will greatly influence building energy efficiency. Building energy efficiency is the basis for achieving carbon reduction and it should develop into low-carbon building. After introducing the concept of low-carbon buildings, this paper analyzes the important role technology plays in low-carbon building development and proposes several energy-efficiency measures concerning new building construction, old building transformation and low carbon lifestyle. The paper aims to be of help in promoting the development of low-carbon buildings.

Abstract: Electromechanical coupling coefficient of cement-based piezoelectric composites affected by pozzolanic materials and poling field are investigated. Specimens, through a pressure approach, are manufactured by combining PZT powders and cement-based binder with the same volume fraction. Pozzolanic materials including fly ash, slag and silica fume replace 20% cement in the binder. Three poling fields are considered to induce piezoelectricity of 0-3 cement-based composites. Results show that electromechanical coupling coefficients do not have many fluctuations in terms of material ages for any cement-pozzolanic piezoelectric composites. With the same volumetric substitutes of pozzolanic materials, the electromechanical coupling coefficient with pozzolanic materials except fly ash is lower than that with plain cement, especially for silica fume having a 7.9% decrease. Raising poling field can increase electromechanical coupling coefficients. Polarization of cement-based piezoelectric composites containing silica fume in low poling fields such as 0.5kV/mm and 1kV/mm is not easy to complete.

Abstract: To solve more and more serious electromagnetic radiations, cement-based composites were prepared by introducing aramid fiber into cement. The reflection losses were studied using arched testing method in the frequency range of 1.7~18 GHz. The results showed that the absorption properties and mechanical properties were all improved preferably. The mechanisms were discussed, which indicated that the space network structure lapped into mutually by aramid fiber played an important role. The filling ratio of aramid fiber as well as the length of fiber had influence on the absorption properties, the breaking strength and the compressive strength of cement. The lowest reflection loss of -12.2 dB was obtained at 18 GHz, the effective absorption bandwidth (less than -8 dB) reached 9.15 GHz ,and the compressive strength was twice than that of cement paste when the specimen was filled with 8 vol. % aramid fiber with length of 3mm.

Abstract: Natural ventilation is an important role to improve the residential building indoor thermal environment in summer. This paper use Energy Plus to simulate indoor thermal environment and use CFD to simulate indoor air flow for Xi’an residential building, analysis the influence that different ventilation mode for indoor thermal environment factors. Then with the simulated result of PMV-PPD value to estimate indoor thermal comfort. Proved night ventilation is necessary in residential building in Xi’an and effectiveness to improve indoor thermal comfort.

Abstract: The structural characteristics and heat transfer characteristics of double ventilation glass with hot channel are analyzed, whose heat transfer model is set up, we simulate air distribution of double ventilation glass with hot channel using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) scheme as a simulation technique. The results show that the requirement of supplying air can be realized in winter, when the heating plates are set up in the hot channel, the air temperature of outlet is 290 K, and the flow rate of outlet is 1.03 m/s; which can be realized in summer, when the cooling plates are set up in the hot channel, the air temperature of outlet is 290 K, and the flow rate of outlet is 1.12m/s.
