Synthesis of Carbon Black/Platinum Composite Materials as Catalytic Electrodes Prepared by Electrophoretic Deposition

Abstract:

In this study, the composite of carbon black with platinum nanoparticles (CB/Pt) have been synthesized and formed colloidal solution for coating onto fluorine-doped tin oxide (FTO) coated glasses by electrophoretic deposition (EPD). The effects of applied voltage (5V, 10V, 15V) and different time were investigated. The CB/Pt coated on FTO glasses hold promise in applications such as dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSC). The result coating were characterized in term of chemical composition (XRD) and microstructure and phase distribution (SEM) combine with energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) and TEM analyses.
