An Analysis of Stress Factors for Estimators in Construction Companies

Abstract:

The promptness and accuracy of an estimate is one of the factors that can make or break a construction project. The gravity of this fact places a lot of stress on the workers in charge of quotations, and this in turn has an effect on the quality of their quotations. While this reality has been widely acknowledged, there have been no studies on the stress factors that affect the workers in charge of quotation. For this reason, this study aims to analyze the stress factors that have an influence on these workers. Through the results of the survey, 29 stress factors in 5 areas were identified. A correlation analysis was performed to understand the correlation by stress factor. Through this analysis, it was found that the main stress factor that can reduce the stress of the workers in charge of quotation, if appropriately managed, is organizational relationship conflict.
